One ofWarframe’stougher resources to farm are Eidolon Shards. These are tied to endgame bosses that roam the Plains of Eidolon on Earth. You’ll need to progress through the story until you complete “The War Within,” ideally further so you may acquire stronger gear and Operator upgrades. If you haven’t gotten this far in the story yet, you won’t be able to get Brilliant Eidolon Shards.

The good news is that once you get access to your Operator, farming for Brilliant Eidolon Shards is fairly easy. Bring a strong weapon, a good buffer Warframe, and you’ll crush these Eidolons in no time.

How To Get Brilliant Eidolon Shards

Brilliant Eidolon Shards drop fromcaptured Eidolons, massive Sentients that roam the Plains of Eidolon at night.Since you can’t control the time of day in open world tilesets, you’ll need to wait until dawn before you can start farming Eidolons. Keep an eye on the Plains of Eidolon node on your Star Chart to see what time of day it is.

The type of Eidolon you capture determines how many Brilliant Eidolon Shards you’ll get:

Capturing An Eidolon

We won’t go too in-depth on how to hunt Eidolons in this guide, but let’s give a quick overview on how to capture an Eidolon. This is a simple four-step process:

Eidolons will always spawn near a body of water, usually at Gara Toht Lake or the nearby river. We recommend using your Archwing to quickly navigate the plains to find it. While searching for it, you’ll also want to look forEidolon Luresat Grineer outposts. Damage the lure, hack it, and it’ll follow you for the remainder of the fight. Charge at least one lure before you start the fight.

Charging Lures

Vomvalysts tend to spawn near theCetus entrance. If you need to charge your first lure, bring one to the Cetus gates and keep an eye out for a Vomvalyst pack.

Now that you have a charged lure, go ahead and fight the Teralyst. Switch to your Operator and start damaging the Teralyst with your Amp. You can technically kill this boss with the default Amp, but if you’re struggling to solo it, consider bringing some friends or aVoltWarframe. Their Electric Shield ability can actually buff your Operator’s Amp.

Once the Eidolon’s shields are stripped, it’s time to break their limbs.Switch back to your Warframe and break one of the Teralyst’s joints.Weapons that deal Radiationwork best here. So long as you have a charged lure, the Teralyst won’t teleport when it’s wounded. Swap to your Operator and cloak to avoid the incoming scream attack, then repeat the process until the Teralyst is dead. It’ll drop a Brilliant Eidolon Shard and random Arcane once captured.

Using Brilliant Eidolon Shards

There are three uses for Brilliant Eidolon Shards:

Focusis the main resource sink for Eidolon Shards. You’ll want to save a Brilliant Shard for eachWaybound node. These arepassive effects in each Focus schoolthat, when fully upgraded, apply toallFocus schools. For example, the Inner Gaze passive for Madurai will apply to every Focus school once maxed out.Ranking up a Waybound node all the way requires one Brilliant Eidolon Shard.

You can also exchange leftover Eidolon Shards for Focus points. While in the Focus menu, click “Focus Conversion” to select any Eidolon Shards you own. This process is irreversable; be mindful of which ones you exchange.

If you need Radiant Eidolon Shards, you’ll need to fightGantulysts and Hydrolysts. These tougher Eidolon variants must be summoned after a Teralyst fight while it’s still night.Head to the shrine at Gara Toht Lake and sacrifice your Brilliant Eidolon Shard.Everyone in your squad must exchange a shard to spawn the Gantulyst. Defeat that boss, then sacrifice another shard to spawn a Hydrolyst.
