Memoriapolisis a game where you stand against time. As your city and civilization continue to grow, the only thing you truly leave behind is time, while your city and power keep advancing. The game undoubtedly features deep mechanics, and mastering them all won’t be an easy task.
However, if you’ve played other strategy or city-builder games, you’ll find familiar mechanics here. The first thing you need to know is the classic resources—of course, you can’t build your city without some wood and a few stones. But in this game, there’s more than just those basic resources!
Memoriapolis is in early access and its content is subject to change.
How To Get Classical Resources
In Memoriapolis, resources are everything. You’ll need them for activities such as constructing buildings, improving them, and evolving them. The game offers a wide variety of resources, but you won’t have direct access to all of them right away.
To build certain structures that allow you to gather resources, you must place them near natural resource areas. Some resources, however, can only be obtained by transforming the resources you already have through specific buildings. Here’s a list of all the resources you can obtain and how to get them:
Food
Antiquity Age (First Age)
The primary way to obtain food is by constructing a Small Farm. Depending on the area where you place the farm, you can generate between 0 and 12 fields. Each field will produce food based on the farm’s level.
You don’t need to place Small Farms near any natural resources, but if you decide to generate many fields, they will take up a lot of space.
Additionally, if you choose the ‘Cutting Camp with Food’ as the fifth-level upgrade for your Cutting Camp, all your Cutting Camps will start producing Food every cycle from that point on.
Wood
The primary way to obtain wood is by constructing a Cutting Camp. You must place these buildings near foresters; otherwise, they won’t produce any wood. Since most parts of your map have foresters, you shouldn’t encounter any difficulties in producing this resource.
Stone
To obtain stone, you need to construct a Small Quarry. You must place these buildings around mountains or hills; otherwise, they won’t produce any stone. Additionally, the Small Quarry can also produce sand and clay, so when building it, make sure to select stone production.
Clay
To obtain Clay, you will need a Small Quarry. Clay is commonly found near seas, rivers, and lakes, though it can also occasionally be found around mountains and hills. ensure to place the Small Quarry in these areas. The Small Quarry can also produce stone and sand, so be sure to select clay production when building it.
Sand
To access the sand resource, you will need a Small Quarry. Sand is abundant around seas, lakes, and rivers, and it cannot be found elsewhere. Therefore, you should place the Small Quarry near these areas. The Small Quarry can also produce stone and clay, so make sure to select sand production when building it.
Gold
Middle Ages (Second Age)
Although you won’t need Gold early in the game, you will require it later on. To obtain gold, you must construct a Small Mine. Keep in mind that this building unlocks in the second age. Gold can be found near mountains and hills, as well as around rivers and seas, but it is not as abundant as other resources. Since the Small Mine can also produce iron, make sure to select gold production when building it.
Iron
Just like Gold, you won’t need Iron early in the game, but it will be essential for upgrading buildings and constructing new types of structures. You can obtain iron with the Small Mine. Iron is primarily found around mountains and hills and is more abundant than gold. Since the Small Mine can also produce Gold, make sure to select Iron production when building it.
Wooden Beams
Although wooden beams are considered a resource, they are not obtained from natural resources. To produce wooden beams, you need to construct a Carpentry building. The location of this building doesn’t matter. The Carpentry will use wood to produce wooden beams, so make sure you have a plentiful supply of Wood.
Rubbles
Rubbles are not obtained from natural resources. To produce rubble, you need to have a Carver building. The location of this building doesn’t matter. Once constructed, this building will convert your stones into rubbles over certain cycles.
Bricks
Bricks are also among the resources that are not obtained from natural resources. The building required to produce this resource is the Brickwork. The location of this building doesn’t matter. Keep in mind that the Brickwork will need to use clay to produce bricks.
Tiles
Tiles cannot be obtained from natural resources. To acquire this resource, you need to have a Tilery building. The Tilery will convert your Sand into tiles over certain cycles, so verify you have a plentiful supply of sand.
Steel
Steel cannot be obtained from natural resources. To have steel, you will need a Forge building. The Forge will convert your Iron into Steel over certain cycles.
Gold Leaves
Gold Leaves cannot be obtained from natural resources. To acquire Gold Leaves, you will need a Goldbeater building. The Goldbeater will convert your Gold into Gold Leaves over certain cycles.
Precious Stones
You cannot obtain this resource from any natural resources. Additionally, there is no single building dedicated to acquiring this resource; it can only be obtained through chance. If you upgrade your Small Quarry to the fifth level as a ‘Precious Quarry,’ it will have a low chance of finding precious stones. Similarly, if you upgrade your Small Mine to the fifth level as a ‘Precious Mine,’ it will also have a low chance of finding precious stones.
How To Get Blueprints
Blueprints are among the most important resources in the game. Their function is to allow you to unlock new buildings and upgrade them from the Building Tree. There is only one building that enables you to obtain Blueprints, which is the Architectural Office.
Keep in mind that you can only construct one of these buildings in the game. Therefore, the earlier you upgrade this building, the more Blueprints you will acquire.
How To Get Culture Points
Culture Points are not obtained indirectly from any buildings. Culture Points are divided into six types. As long as you construct Cultural Buildings to satisfy your population’s needs, this will create an attraction. With this attraction, certain factions will come to your city. These arriving factions will generate Culture Points based on their respective cultures.
Like classical resources, there are situations where you can spend this resource. You will need Culture Points if you want to build multiple instances of the same cultural building, increase your level in the Cultural Radiance section, or engage in corruption.
How To Get Gold Coins
Gold Coins are among the resources you will frequently need later in the game, even if you don’t require them at the beginning. It’s advisable to get familiar with this resource, especially after constructing the Macellum building. If you want to earn Gold Coins through this building, you can sell your resources to other cities.
Additionally, you may use gold coins to purchase resources through this building. Of course, you will need trade roads to engage in trade with other cities, which you can also acquire with gold coins. These trade roads will also provide you with passive gold coin income. Furthermore, you can earn gold coins by taxing factions in your city.
