Unlike your typical pond fish that just pop in for a quick roe production, these legendary ones come with their own unique rules and locations. In this guide, we’re here to help you navigate the waters and snag these catches so you can transform them into the sought-after roe. With a little patience and strategy, you’ll be reaping the rewards in no time. Let’s dive in.
How To Get Legendary Roe
Unlike regular fish that can be tossed into ponds for quick roe production,Legendary Roerequires you to place alegendary fishin a pond, where it willslowly generate roe over time.
To start, you’ll need to catch one of these legendary fish, each with its own unique conditions and locations. After snagging one, place it in a pond, and it will eventually produce roe. Keep in mind,only one legendary fish can inhabita pondat a time, and they won’t repopulate like other fish.
We tested this with aGlacierfish, and itsRoesells for530 goldand producesfour unitsat a time. Selling all units at once nets you2,120 gold. If you let it sit in aPreserves Jarfor three days, eachAged Roeunit will sell for1,484 gold, resulting in a total of5,936 goldwhen sold in bulk. This makes the process veryprofitable.

What Are The Legendary Fish?
The five legendary fish —Angler, Crimsonfish, Glacierfish, Legend,andMutant Carp— each require specific fishing levels, locations, and, in some cases, bait or weather conditions. Notably, you canonly catch one of eachper save file. The following table provides details on each legendary fish, their locations, and the conditions for catching them:
Angler
Pelican Town (Fall)
You must be standing at thenorthernmost end of the riverand have afishing level of three or higher.
Crimsonfish
The Beach (Summer)
You need to stand at thefar east end of the beachwith afishing level of five or higher, and thebobbermust land in waterat least four tiles away from any land.
Glacierfish
Cindersap Forest (Winter)
You should fish from thesouthernmost tip of Arrowhead Island, with afishing level of six or higher, and ensure thebobberisfour tiles away from land.
Legend
Mountain Lake (Spring, Rain)
It requires afishing level of ten, and the player must fish in azone five area,at least five tiles away from any land.
The Sewers (All Seasons)
It isavailable year-roundand hasno special fishing requirements.
Wedid not include the Extended Family legendary fishbecause they’re only available after completingMr. Qi’s Extended Family Quest.
Although these fish can also produce Legendary Roe in fishing ponds, they require extra steps to obtain, so this guide focuses on the primary legendary fish for easier access to Legendary Roe.
