As the ruler of the kingdom inThe Elder Scrolls: Castles, you’ll need to have plenty of subjects to keep the castle running smoothly. From various work stations that provide food, clothing, oil, and weapons, to soldiers you can send out into the wild to defeat monsters and slay dragons.
You’ll want to have several to choose from, though not every subject will earn a spot in the castle. Here’s everything you need to know to get more subjects in your castle, and what you can do with the ones you no longer want. You’re the ruler, after all, so the decision is yours.
How To Get More Subjects
Subjects fill the castle and get work done for everyone. Whilesubjects aren’t too hard to come by, finding ones that havethe best traitscan be a challenge. Thankfully, you’ll have a chance topull subjects from packsthat can add a bit of diversity to your castle.
You’ll have a better chance of gettingEpic and Legendary characters from Legendary Packs, but Common Packs can also reward you withCommon and Rare castle dwellers.
How To Breed More Subjects
You can alsobreed more subjectsusing your existing population. This is the best way to try andselect traits for offspringto have, as children have abetter chance to inherit their parents' traits.
To havetwo subjects make a baby, you’ll need to have a bedroom available.Assign the desired parentsto the room and wait for them to create a child.
Parents canonly make one child per day per couple, so take advantage of this!
How To Remove Unwanted Subjects
There’sa limit to how many subjectsyou can have. Thesoft cap begins around 150 people, depending on your equipment’s effectiveness. At 170 people, it’s possible for the resource bars at the top torequire more Oil and Foodthan you’re able to contain.
At 200 subjects, the castle is at max capacity.
Tomake room for more(and hopefully better) subjects, you canbanish those you no longer wantor need. It’s recommended toremove common subjects with undesirable traitslike Devious or Envious to make room for higher rarity characters.
Simplyselect the desired character and drag themover to the left.Drop them over the walland off the cliff to banish them from the castle. You’ll have a chance toconfirm this is what you want to dobefore it’s permanent.
Youcannot banish childrenunder the age of 16.
Whileyou can banish the elderly, they offer a few rewards after they pass on. Any particularly old subjects may beworth holding ontofor a few more daysuntil they pass.
