The last thing we expected fromThe Legend of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdomwas the ability to dress up as a cat, let alone the ability to converse with them like some sort of Hylian Doctor Dolittle. Yet that is exactly what this adorable costume does, and it might be one of the title’s major highlights. Outside of playing as Zelda, vanquishing evil, and summoning giant bugs.

Once you have earned the ability to change outfits, Zelda will be able to traverse Hyrule and find quests that reward her with new costumes, scan amiibo for potential rizz, or stumble on rare finds in the most unlikely of places. As for the cat outfit, it awaits in Kakariko Village.

The cat outfit is earned as part of the‘Questing The Local Cats’quest inKakariko Village, which will become available after completing the Hyrule Castle dungeon and beating Ganon.

Now that Zelda is able to equip costumes instead of remaining in disguise, she can help out the local people without impedance.Fast travel to Kakariko and speak to the old man standing to the right of the village well.

He’ll ask you to listen to his tale of heartbreak and howhis precious feline has suddenly gone missingbefore mentioning that apparentlythere exists an outfit that gives anyone wearing it the ability to speak with cats. That’s basically a superpower granted by fabric.

It turns out she is selling this mystical attire because she is allergic to cats. So why would you buy it in the first place?

How To Get The Cat Outfit

After listening to the old man,you will need to meet up with the woman in possession of the costume, who can be found standing outside her house to the southeast of town. Sadly, she isn’t going to give up her magical animal costume without asking for a favour.

She wants you to dig up her ‘secret stash’ on the other side of town, located under a patch of dirt beneath one of Kakariko’s many windmills. Unfortunately, a cat is sitting on the spot. You need to coax him out by spawning his favourite food -a grilled fish.

Then, use a Holmill to dig up the satchel, and you will automatically be launched into a brief cutscene to receive the outfit. Now you can speak with cats and progress the quest. Next up is actually finding the old man’s missing kitty.

Where To Find The Old Man’s Cat

Equip the outfit and begin by speaking with the cat you just appeased with a fish. He has no idea, and directs you to other cats across Kakariko. Start with the cat located on the roof of the house directly in front of the chicken coop, who will then direct you to a friend of his atop a windmill.

This windmill is located in the northwest of the town, with the cat being a fluffy white variety.Use water blocks or some other combination of echoes to make your way up thereand chat with them.

You will then be directed to the exact location of the old man’s cat -a tree on the outskirts of townwhere they settled down for a very long nap.

There are loads of cats to be found in Kakariko Village, but most of them will just tell you to get lost.

Now, immediately leave town, heading east, and follow the dirt path. This will eventually lead you to a tree with a cat sitting atop it.Speak to them and they will head right home. Chat to the old man to bring this quest to an end andearn ten bunches of grapesfor your troubles. A small reward, but let’s be real, you were in it for the adorable cat outfit.
