This new season ofPokemon Go, Max Out, has been jam-packed with different in-game events, many of which are brand-new and debuting for the very first time. This week is no different, introducing the newGalarian Expedition Event, presenting players with different event-themed bonuses and features, in addition to a few Pokemon Go debuts.

The Galarian Expedition Event will be available for all players for a little over a week,taking place from Friday, June 03, 2025, at 10am local time to Friday, June 05, 2025, at 8pm local time.Below you can find all details about this event, ranging from event bonuses to brand-new Pokemon Go additions coming to the game.

Daily Adventure Incense Updates

With this event comesupdates and changes to theDaily Adventure Incense feature,an item that can be used daily to attract Pokemon around you while you are moving around. With the start of this event, you canexpect to encounter different Pokemon when using the Daily Adventure Incense.

This update to Daily Adventure Incense encounters will be apermanent change, extending beyond the conclusion of the Galarian Expedition Event.

Additionally, you will now have thechance of encountering the Shiny forms of Galarian Articuno, Galarian Moltres, and Galarian Zapdos.These three Legendary Pokemon can currently only be encountered through the use of the Daily Adventure Incense, so verify to keep your eye out for these extremely rare encounters.

Encountering a Galarian Legendary Bird is already extremely rare, so encountering one of their Shiny variations will most likely be even rarer.

Event Research

New Masterwork Research

There will be a new Masterwork Research available to purchase starting with this event, titled theMasterwork Research: Master Ball. This can be unlocked through purchase at the Pokemon Go in-game shop, costing$7.99 USD.

Once purchased, you will be given access to different in-game tasks to complete, providing you with different items and rewards upon their completion. These rewards include aMaster Ball, an extremely rare item that can be used to guarantee the catch of any Pokemon. In addition to this, you will also be rewarded with:

Once purchased,this Masterwork Research will not expire.

This means that it can be completed even after the Galarian Expedition Event ends.

Event Field Research Tasks

Collect differentEvent Field Research Tasksduring the Galarian Expedition Event by visiting and spinning different PokeStops each day. Complete these limited-time tasks to earn one of the following rewards.

Event Collection Challenges

There will also be newCollection Challengesavailable to complete during this event. Catch and evolve specific event-themed Pokemon to complete these Collection Challenges, rewarding you withUltra Balls, XP, and more event-themed Pokemon encounters.

Event Wild Encounter Pokemon

As with most Pokemon Go events, you willencounter specific event-themed Pokemon more frequently in the wildduring this event window. Some of these Pokemon are uncommon outside this event, so make sure to log-in and play during the Galarian Expedition Event for a chance to encounter and catch the following Pokemon.

Event Raid Pokemon: Zamazenta

During the Galarian Expedition event,Zamazenta will be appearing in Five-Star Raidsacross the globe. In addition to this Pokemon being available, you will have thechance of encountering its Shiny form for the first timein Pokemon Go with this event.

Make sure to participate in different Zamazenta Raids during this event for a chance to acquire this rare Shiny Legendary Pokemon.

Event Pokemon Showcases

There will also beEvent Pokemon Showcasesavailable to participate in throughout this event. These Showcases can be found at specific PokeStops, requiring that you enter a Pokemon with specific qualifications for a chance to win different in-game rewards and items.

For the Pokemon Showcases for the Galarian Expedition Event, you will have toenter specific event-themed Pokemoninto these showcases, most likely Pokemon that are available as wild encounters during this event window.

To maximize your chances of placing high and earning the best rewards, you will want toenter Pokemon that are either especially large or small,depending on the type of competition that is being hosted.

For this reason,make sure to hold on to event-themed Pokemon that you encounter during this event that are very large or small, helping to ensure that you have different options when it comes to eligible Pokemon.
