Even with some things restored, your job of repairing the town post-earthquake isn’t done yet inLuma Island. There’s still a long way to go and the next thing on the list to be repaired is the Cable Car, as not only is the wiring ruined, but the cable’s been snapped, and the car itself is damaged.
It’s in no shape to take anyone anywhere, but if you want to repair the town’s lighthouse and make it safe for ships to dock in its port again, you’ll need materials from the Mountain. There’s no way you’re climbing up to it on your own, so it’s time to repair the Cable Car.
How To Repair The Cable Car
Before you can get to the Mountains, you’ll need torepair the Cable Carafter it’s broken by theearthquake that occurred on day five, and it needssix different materialsto repair it, two of which are specialty ingredients:
Somematerials like Iron Oreand Forest Wood can bepurchased from the Carpenter’s Shop and the Blacksmith’s Shoponce you’ve obtained them.
You canget most of the materials from the Forest, but with theCable For A Cable Carand theCogwheel, you’ll need torepair the General Storeand visit aspecific location in the Forestthat requires you to do quite a bit of exploring.

Smelt Iron Ore in an Ore Smelter.
Iron Ore can be obtained from theLost Forest Cavein the Forest.
Silk Rope x25
Made from Spider Silk and Fiber in a Simple Workbench.
Spider Silk can be obtained bybreaking Spider Webs found in any type of temple, such as the Ancient Farm Temple.
Fiber can be obtained byrefining Reeds at a Simple Workbench, and Reeds can be found around any lake or river.
Forest Stone Block x25
Refined from Forest Stone in a Sawmill.
Forest Stone can be found by breaking Forest Rocks at any location in the Forest.
Harvested fromForest Resin Bushesin the Forest.
How To Get The Cable For A Cable Car
For theCable For A Cable Carmaterial, you’llneed to fixanother victim of the earthquake: theGeneral Store. It’s located at thenorthwestern end of town, down the street from the Town Hall, and it hastwo stages of repairsto do.
Make sure you have yourtools upgraded into Iron versionsso that you may collect all the materials you need much faster.
Speak toSophia outside her shopto pick up the quest tounlock the process, and thefirst stageonly needsfive Fiber and five Forest Planksto fix.
Thesecond stageof the repair is going toneed four materialsthis time: Forest Stone Blocks, Forest Planks, Iron Bars, and Glass.

Refine Forest Wood Logs in a Sawmill.
Forest Wood Logs can be harvested from Forest Trees at any location in the Forest.
Glass x25
Smelt Sand in a Kiln.
Sand can be obtained by using your pickaxe on sand at any location.
Bring everything back to the General Store andinteract with it to add the materials, and it’ll be completely fixed. Thisunlocks the General Store, which sells a variety of handy materials such as Coal and Glass, as well as theCable For A Cable Car for 20,000 Gold.
Where To Find The Cogwheel
The Cogwheel islocated in the Forest, which you’ll need torepair the bridge in town to reach. It’s located at thenortheastern corner of the area, but to get there, you’ll need toopen up the path between both sectionsof the forest.
Head to theleft edge of the lake located on the western sideof the Forest, andfollow the path along the waterinto theLost Forest Caveat the end of the rock wall.
This special zone has someregular mining nodes like Iron Ore, but it’s muchshorter and more containedthan the regular Lost Forest Caves you mine in.
Follow themostly lit path through to the exit, and you’ll end up on theeastern side of the Forestthat you couldn’t get to previously.
Make sure to take the path around the lake back to the west once you’re on the other side andknock over the tree log so you can connect the two areas permanently.
Nowhead towards the east on the main path, passing by the newLeech Nest enemies,until you reach amuddy-looking areawith rocks sitting in spots throughout it.
This area isfull of quicksand, and you’llsink to the bottom and dieif you stand or walk through it for too long. Use therocks and floating wood platforms to cross, take theleft pathto the far side of the area, thenkeep heading eastuntil youreach the Forest Shrine.
If yougo through the Hidden Forest Cave next to where the left path drops you off, you can open up a shortcut to the western side of the island.
Take thepath going northeast, and avoid thenew Toxic Mushroom enemies' AOE damageclouds. The path will bring you to theside of a cliffat the edge of the map that you’llneed to climb down.
Once you’re on the beach, you’ll find asmall island connected by a gravel pathoff the coast just down from the slope, and the special Cogwheel you need issitting in the centerof it.
Bring it and the rest of the materialsback to the Broken Cable Car, interact with it to add them to the construction materials, and you’ll be able togo to the Mountainsas soon as therepair is complete.
How To Reach The Mountain Caves
Ride the Cable Car up to the Mountains, and you alreadywon’t be too farfrom theFrozen Mountain Cave. Follow thepath to the north, and once it splits,head to the left, and you’ll find ahalf-built campsitein front of thecave entrance.
There’s aSawmill,Kiln,Ore Smelter,and Simple Workbenchyou can complete, but you’llneed Mountain-based materialsfound nearby to do so, and afew pieces of Moonstone and Iron Ore sitting outsidethat you’ll want to grab.
Inside the Frozen Mountain Cave, you’ll find Charcoal and a bit of Iron Ore, but themain ore typeyou’ll find isMoonstone Ore. You’ll also find a new type of rubble,Gold Rubble, and three new gems:Fluorite,Azurite, andUvarovite.
Anothervariant of spider will also show upas an enemy, theArctic Spider, and these cavesintroduce a new mechanic.
While rare,some Mountain Bouldershave a chance toexplode a few seconds after being hit, and they’ll destroy nearby rocks and ores in asmall radius around them.
Exploding Mountain Boulders are alwaysmedium-sized and have a more rounded shapethan usual compared to others.
