InLife is Strange: Double Exposure’s second chapter, Vinh is being very weird about his phone. First he’s worried that someone stole it, and then once he has it back, he can’t open it and claims it’s because he drank too much the night before. Weird. Very weird.
Thankfully, Max Caulfield can sometimes harness her dimension-hopping powers for extremely petty problems. If you want to open Vinh’s phone, and get one step closer to solving Safi’s murder, this is one of those times. In this guide, we’ll help you find the passcode, either on your own or with Vinh’s help.
How To Find Vinh’s Phone Passcode
In the Living World, you canfind Vinh in his office in the administration building. Approach him, and you’ll find that he can’t get into his phone. He claims he’s too hungover to remember which seems suspicious. But, he will tell you thathis passcode is set to the year a famous “magician scientist” died.
Go to one of the nearby timeline swap spots and jump to the Dead World. Once there, you can find Vinh — still in his office, but this time, getting drunk on the couch in the middle of the day. Grief looks different for everyone, I guess.
Should You Cash In Vinh’s Favor?
Sit down and drink with him and, eventually, you’ll have the option to learn the passcode in one of two ways. If you brought him his package back in the first chapter,he owes you a favor. you’re able to cash that in here, bluntly asking him for his passcode, and he’ll tell it to you.
If you want to save that favor in case it comes in handy later (or just didn’t bring him his package back in the first episode) Vinh will tell you the magician scientist’s name — Jack Parsons — but he gets suspicious if you ask the year he died,leaving you to figure out the rest on your own.
Where To Find The Jack Parsons' Death Date
Thankfully, you’re right next to a library, where there are a lot of books that might just contain that information. On the shelf across from the door nearest Vinh’s office and to the left — also to the left of the fireplace and the portrait — you’ll find a book on the History of the Occult. Open it and read the first page you come to, and you’ll find thatJack Parsons died in 1952.
Armed with that information, swap back to the Living World, and you’ll find that Vinh isno longer in his office. Luckily, his phone is — it’s just sitting there, waiting to be opened.Select the “Snoop” option, and you’ll have the choice to examine it or unlock it. Choose to unlock it and success! You are now free to uncover Vinh’s secret.
