During your travels inYs X: Nordics, you will come across several companions to aid in your journey. These companions have powerful abilities, unique backstories, and character interactions. As you continue to share experiences, you will increase your affinity with these characters, allowing you to learn more about them, which adds to the depth.
There are a few different ways to increase affinity in Ys X: Nordics. These include but are not limited to giving gifts, companion-specific quests, and random events. This guide will walk you through all the things needed to raise your affinity with all the characters in the game.
Increase Affinity In Ys X: Nordics
Similar to earlier games,affinity essentially measures the strength of your bondwith companions met on your adventure. It is firstintroduced toward the end of the second chapter, as the bond between Adol and Karja deepens. Following this, the ability to increase affinity with several other companions encountered throughout the story becomes available.
At any point in the game, you should easily be able tocheck your affinitywith others byopening up the Journal, viewingAdventure Records, andselecting your desired companionfrom the People tab. You will see theaffinity denoted by green stars in the top-rightcorner of the character page.
Byincreasing affinitywith companions, you gainaccess to special stories known as Interludes. Other than that, you will also getadditional Character Notes in the Journal, allowing you to know your companions a bit more.
You will also obtain theSandra’s Socialitetrophy if you successfullymax out Adol’s affinity with all his companions.

How To Get Gifts
As mentioned earlier, multiple ways are using which you can get gifts in Ys X: Nordics. While you are introduced to the affinity mechanic toward the end of the second chapter, you will not be able toget your first gift until you reach the Baudin & Co.merchant shipsometime in the third chapter. Below, we have shared a complete list of all the gifts, their locations, and who they are meant for:
Foreign Gauntlet

You will first need to buy theHidden Treasure Chart Bfrom Gregorio’s Curios merchant ship in Sonnelia Basin. Once done, head over to the Ozmid Expanse to acquire the Foreign Gauntlet — you will find it towards the northwestern edge of the map. Simply interact with the treasure to acquire it.
Oku-Thor Amulet
Rafe
You will need torecapture the Flumen Strait — Abandoned Mine. Remember that you will need to score at least an ‘A’ rank or higher to be eligible for the reward.
Peculiar Harr Woodcarving
Karja
It is found inside a Treasure Chest on Raufos Island. It is located on the southwest side of the map.
Pink Pearl Ring
Mirabel
It is found inside a Treasure Chest on theRuined Capital of Ribe. Continue to head south on the map to find it.
Rune Sword
Grenn
you may buy it from the Baudin & Co. merchant ship. You will find it near the northwest of Balta Island in the Carnac Waters. This should be the first gift you will find in the game.
White Lion Crest

You can buy it from Anika’s Goods. There are a couple of locations where you can find this merchant ship. The first one is near the south of Specular Bay and the second one is toward the southeast edge of the Rogue Sea.
