Deadlockis a MOBA at heart, which entails quite a few things. Firstly, farming souls and defeating minions and mini-bosses around the map is crucial. Secondly, it can be your preferred playstyle if you’re focused on building a long game plan rather than eliminating opponents all the time.
Deadlock gladly provides players with a plethora of options to choose from, if jungling is the playstyle they wish to go for. Between switching lanes and spending and earning souls in the middle of the map, there’s a lot you may do to jungle well, and build resources for your favorite hero and teammates.
The game is still in development. Expect a lot more balance changes and improvements over time.
What Is Jungling In Deadlock?
Suppose you’re new to a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA). In that case, jungling is a strategy where you farm resources at spots located between lanesand look for opportunities that can help you build resources as the game progresses. Jungling is a skill that can be developed over time as you play more matches.
Jungling works in your favor as a playstyle because of how structured it is; in every match, the spawn time and rate that you can focus on stay pretty much the same. Ideally, you do this by moving to locations on the map that have non-playable enemies (minions) and mini-bosses who put up a fight for you.Once defeated, they drop souls and itemsthat can be used to enhance your performance in the game.
Jungling can be done with any hero in the game, as long as you know where you’re going and what you’re farming.
The Basics Of Jungling
“Jungle camps” are what you’re looking for most of the time, if you prefer to pick up this playstyle. Thanks to Deadlock’s detailed in-game map, this process becomes much easier. On the map, you will spot little triangles. These are spots where you may actively farm souls, instead of relying on pushing a lane or defending one.

Based on the tier, the minions' difficulty levels differ. Additionally, you’re able to also defeat mini-bosses who spawn later in the game, and find objectives that appear as the game progresses. These may not look like ordinary minions or objects, but they hold special value. Stay aware of the spawn time for each, as this will help you plan your attacks better.

If you are playing in a team where communication isn’t a problem, it’s a good idea todiscuss which spots should have your attention. Deadlock has a high number of places to farm souls, and you should make the most of them.
Most of these respawn between four and eight minutes, so keep an eye on the map.
Playstyle Strategy
It’s not a good idea to only focus on farming these spots all the time. Instead, try tobalance between pushing/defending a lane and visiting these spots.A good jungle player would keep a mindful watch over the map, and check every time a camp or boss spawns. During early game, you want to first build up your ability so you can have a decent damage output to clear out a tier-one camp.
Next, it’s important to ensure that youclear an entire camp, and don’t leave an enemy behind. Tier one camps are usually the easiest to farm, and you can clear them out solo. Try to get to those first once they spawn. This usually happens two minutes after the game begins.
Tier two and three camps are much more difficult, and will require you to have a better damage output. Some of these instances may even require you to use all your abilities. When doing so, be extremely careful about enemy players as some of them will attempt to jungle as the game progresses.
A hero like McGinnis with her Mini Turrets can help you jungle better as a solo player.
It also helps tokeep track of your enemies' movements. Sometimes, whilst jungling you can take advantage of an opportunity to sneak up to an opponent and defeat them.A stealthy hero like Hazewould be perfect for this!
Finally,it’s advisable to visit these spots as a team. Especially if you’re trying to eliminate the Mid-Boss once it spawns. Going solo is a risky move and can get you killed quickly since a lot of these spots are in between different lanes. Enemyheroes that are good at pushing lanesare usually at the frontline and will try to eliminate you if you’re not in your lane.
