Like with every expansion,World of Warcraft: The War Within, brings several reputation factions connected to its setting for players who wish to aid new allies and gain suitable rewards. Around the lands of Khaz Algar, four main factions exist for you to gain renown with; the Hallowfall Arathi, the Assembly of the Deeps, the Severed Threads, and the Council of Dornogal.

Each of these four factions are tied to a different Algarian zone. Each faction offers myriad useful and prestigious rewards for those who would aid them in their struggles and endeavors.

General Ways Of Gaining Reputation

There are some tried and true ways to increase your reputation with the factions of Khaz Algar that work for each one.

These methods includequesting in their respective zonesand completing their campaigns,completing world quests, completing weekly quests, defeating rare mobs, and finding treasures.

In the case of The War Within’s weekly reputation-gaining quests, you can find them being handed out by a coupleNPCs gathered around the inn in the earthen’s capital of Dornogal.The NPCs that hand out these quests are theArathi human Faerin Lothar, theearthen High Speaker Brinthe, and theearthen Biergoth.

The earthen profession trainers of Dornogal will also provide renown gains for completing their weekly quests.

The War Within introduced Special Assignments, special world quests that are unlocked after the completion of three regular world quests in a zone where a Special Assignment is active. Once unlocked, a Special Assignment will require you to complete a higher-difficulty world quest in an elite area, which will reward you with more renown and high-quality loot upon doing so.

With The War Within introducing Warband mechanics, your reputation gains will be shared across all of your characters, thus granting you access to purchase leveling gear from the factions' quartermasters for your alts.

Hallowfall Arathi

These elven-human newcomers to Khaz Algar have settled in the zone of Hallowfall beneath the light of their immense sacred crystal, Beledar. Here, they seek to defend it against the shadow and those that wield it, whether it be from without or within.

TheHallowfall Arathiaward those who fight alongside them with suitable treasures and companions. Some notable rewards aremounts like the Vermillion Imperial Lynx, and crafting recipes like the plans for a Charged Claymore.

The seat of the earthen’s Machine Speakers, Gundargaz in the Ringing Deeps, where the other earthen and kobolds of the Assembly of the Deeps also direct their faction’s efforts.

To max-out your reputation with this faction, besides questing through Hallowfall with them, you can also aid them in their home-away-from-home in other ways.

Across the zone of Hallowfall, you cancomplete world quests and Special Assignments, as well as fight the rare mobs and uncover the treasures found there.

Additionally, completing theweekly quests and objectives found at the Hillhelm Stead(Spreading the Light)in northeastern Hallowfall will give you even more reputation with the faction. The farmers found there are constantly in desperate need of help.

OnSaturdays, the Arathi hold a continent-wide fishing competitionfrom a pond south of their capital of Mereldar, and participating in this can also raise your standing with them.

Once you raise your standing with the Hallowfall Arathi enough, you can purchase the rewards you want fromtheir quartermaster, Auralia Steelstrike, at her post in the central square of Mereldar.

Assembly Of The Deeps

Gundargaz is theAssembly of the Deeps' capital, a city of the earthen’s Machine Speakers in the Ringing Deeps, where their new kobold allies have also settled and joined the faction. From here, you’re able to aid them in their efforts throughout the zone, fromfighting skardyn and void-corrupted Machine Speakers, to combating the kobold Candle King’s forces and rescuing those they oppress.

Those that aid this scrappy coalition can recieve rewards like theCyan Glowmite mount and Machine-Learned profession knowledge notes.

In addition to aiding the Machine Speakers and kobolds through questing throughout their home andcompleting world quests and Special Assignments, those adventurers seeking to increase their renown with the Assembly of the Deeps can embark upon two other weekly events as well.

Found in Gundargaz, the earthenSpeaker Kuldas requests your aid in Awakening the Machineeach week, which requires you to defend him from waves of enemies while he attempts to fix the machines of The Stonevault.

Alsofound in Gundargaz, the kobolds Gnawbles and Middlesseek out adventurers who willcomplete Snuffling questsfor them, which consist of finding Odd Globs of Wax throughout Khaz Algar and bringing them back to them for cosmetic rewards like battle pets and toys.

Once you feel you are renowned enough with this faction, you can seek out the koboldWaxmonger Squick at their stall in Gundargaz, who serves as the Assembly’s quartermaster.

The Severed Threads

Under the oppressive and warmongering regime of the Kaheti nerubian’s new empress, Queen Ansurek,The Severed Threadshas formed in secret. This coalition of both high and low-status nerubians has rejected Ansurek’s tyrannical reign and her new dark ally, Xal’atath, and formed an alliance with the outlanders of the Horde, Alliance, and Kirin Tor.

These rebellious nerubians make their base in the Weaver’s Lair, home of the eponymous Weaver, Widow Arak’nai. From here, you can aid them in their conspiracies and revolts, and receive rewards for your exploits likethe battle pet Jump Jump and the Thread-Bearer’s Carapace transmog set.

The Thread-Spinner title

In addition to the basic Severed Threads reputation and rewards,this faction has three sub-factionsassociated with it. These are associated with and named after each of the three leaders;The Weaver (for Widow Arak’nai), The General (for General Anub’azal), and The Vizier (for Executor Nizrek).

Each of these sub-factions has its own rewards, which are usually tied to easing your experiences and mobility with the Kaheti capital, the City of Threads, as well as uniquely themed mounts.These three quartermasters, (Bobbin for The Weaver, Anub’okki for The General, and Tulumun for The Vizier), can be foundwithin the Weaver’s Lair, along with The Severed Threads’main quartermaster, Lady Vinazian.

When you reach the reputation rank of Conspirator with either The Weaver, The General, or The Vizier, you can purchase the Widow’s Undercrawler, Heritage Undercrawler, and Royal Court Undercrawler mounts, respectively.

Additionally, reaching the Mastermind reputation rank with any of these three sub-factions will allow you to purchase the Notorious Thread’s Hearthstone toy, and depending on which of the three you have achieved this rank with, you can buy the Spymaster’s Severed Thread, Crypt Lord’s Severed Thread, and Executor’s Severed Thread, which will alter the animations of your Notorious Thread’s Hearthstone when used.

If you have not completed the Azj-Kahet campaign, Lady Vinazian will not appear as The Severed Threads' quartermaster. Instead, Y’tekhi will appear, as they have not embarked on missions for The Weaver yet.

A special way to increase your reputation with The Severed Threads and its sub-factions is tocomplete a weekly Pact questwith your chosen sub-faction. To complete these quests, you simply need tocomplete world quests, Special Assignments, defeat rares, find treasures, and complete quests within Azj-Kahet.

Upon accepting a Pact quest,you must choose who you will aid that week, either The Weaver, The General, or The Vizier, and whoever you choose to assist will provide you with their own boon that will make traversing Azj-Kahet and combating its threats slightly easier.

Yamas the Provider, a nerubian found behind Lady Vinazian in the Weaver’s Lair,has information on each Pact and the rewardsand boons they provide.

Council Of Dornogal

The earthen of Khaz Algar were, and now once again are,united under the Council of Dornogal. The united citizenry of the Oathsworn, Stonebound/Unbound, Stormriders, and Machine Speakers all ascribe the city of Dornogal on the Isle of Dorn as their capital, and it is from there that you may find out how to aid them in whatever ways you can.

With the majority of the quests improving your reputation with the Council taking place in the city and the isle, it is a fine place to work towards rewards like thebattle pet Loamy and the Smoldering Cinderbee mount.

While the usual suspects of reputation-gaining like questing, world quests, Special Assignments, rare fighting, and treasure-seeking, apply to proving yourself to the earthen of the Council of Dornogal, there is another world event that can help you do so.

This world event is called the Theater Troupe, and it consists ofhelping an earthen actor troupe put on plays at the Proscenium, an auditorium located just outside Dornogal. These plays occur at the top of every hour, and are cultural staples of Algarian earthen theater.

There is aweekly quest given out by the theater troupe’s Stage Manager Hubertaat the Proscenium, that requires you to complete this event once a week for loot and renown.

When you are satisfied with your reputation with the Council, you’re able to seek outAuditor Balwurz, an earthen who serves as the Council of Dornogal’s quartermaster, found inDornogal’s Foundation Hall.
