AlthoughDead Rising Deluxe Remasteris nowhere near as difficult as the original 2006 release, it still provides a decent challenge in certain sections and for anyone new to the game. You’re going to want every advantage you can - which is where Mixed Juices come in.

Mixed Juices are one of a few mechanics that Dead Rising doesn’t really tell you much about, but they’re a massive help in the early game. Bygoing to specific sections of the mall with blenders and chucking health items in there, you’ll get a high-healing drink with special effects depending on what food you use.

Where To Find Every Blender

Before we get into the wacky world of Mixed Juices, you’re going to want to know which areas of the mall have a blender (or blenders!) in them. There aren’t as many as you’d like around the mall, but there are enough between the areas to make sure you’ve usually got one nearby.

Security Room

One neat change that Deluxe Remastermakes is the addition of a blender in the Security Room. You’ll now be able to mix drinks without leaving the area, as the blender is located to the left of the vent you use to enter and exit.

Colombian Roastmasters, Paradise Plaza

Without a doubt, the most useful blender in all of Dead Rising is theone found in Colombian Roastmasters on the second floor of Paradise Plaza. Not only is it easy to find, but you’ve got unlimited Pie and Orange Juice waiting right next to you for easy Mixed Juices.

Colby’s Movieland

Not too far from the first Blender is the one in Colby’s Movieland, which istechnicallypart of Paradise Plaza. You’ll find it near the concession stand, although there’s not much food to find around the area so make sure you come prepared.

Frozen Dreams, Food Court

What would a Food Court be without plenty of food and blenders? You’ll find the first one near the ice cream shop called Frozen Dreams. There’s loads of Wine and various food bits around too, so it’s a good place to make Mixed Juices.

The Dark Bean, Food Court

The second blender in the Food Court is by The Dark Bean. I don’t have any more Food Court jokes to make since I wasted it all on the first, but you can get a few drinks going at once if you’re speedy enough.

Colombian Roastmasters, Al Fresca Plaza

The only Blender to be found inAl Fresca Plaza is in another Colombian Roastmasters. Al Fresca only has a few bits of food around, so it’s good to come prepared once again.

Yep, that sadly means that there are no Blenders in Wonderland Plaza or the Entrance Plaza. Get your blending done before you head to those areas.

How Mixed Juice Recipes Work

Now that you know where to make Mixed Juices, it’s time to talk about the drinks themselves. There are seven different recipes overalland almost all of them are incredibly helpful and worth doing whenever possible. There are lots of combinations to make each drink, but there are usually one or two ingredients that are used every time,so we’ll share some of the easiestso you’re not traipsing around looking for a Melon.

Every single Mixed Juice in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster heals for six blocks of health. Sometimes it’s worth making one just to get that health bonus, even if the effect isn’t all that worthwhile.

How To Make Nectar

The first Mixed Juice you’re likely to make in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is Nectar.Drinking Nectar will cause a zombie-clearing Queen to spawn near Frank, provided you’ve seen the cutscene on the night of Day 1 where they’re introduced. The effect lasts for around three minutes in Deluxe Remaster, although the Queen spawns instantly.

The easiest way to make a Nectar is by using two Orange Juices, which spawn infinitely from Colombian Roastmasters in Paradise Plaza, right next to where a blender is.Orange Juice is the main ingredient for Nectarand will usually work with other non-rotten ingredients to make Nectar, but fruits like Apples and Melons are also good for it.

To be honest, though, you’re not going to need any other combination than two Orange Juices. OJ is very common in Dead Rising, but if you’re specifically planning on making Nectar, just go to Colombian Roastmasters in Paradise Plaza and use the infinitely spawning juice.

How To Make Zombait

One of the least useful Mixed Juices in Dead Rising is the Zombait. As the name implies, drinking this juice will cause zombies to be attracted to Frank instead of other survivors. It was helpful in the original game where survivors were a pain to manage, but it’s not as necessary in Deluxe Remaster. The effect lasts for around two minutes in Deluxe Remaster.

The main ingredients for Zombait are Corn and Pie. Mixing two Corn results in a Zombait, while combining Milk and Pie also results in the drink. Milk and Pie are fairly common, but Corn doesn’t appear all that often so it’s not usually the easiest drink to make.

Zombait used to be a lot more helpful in the original game when survivors didn’t listen as much, but it’s now much easier to just simply give them weapons and let them fight for themselves.

How To Make Untouchable

In the bang average section of Mixed Juices is Untouchable. Chugging this will causeFrank to be immune to zombie grabs for a limited amount of time, although he can still take damage if he’s swiped or hit by anything else. The effect lasts for more than two minutes in Deluxe Remaster.

The main ingredients for Untouchable are Pies and Baguettes, which result in the Mixed Juice when combined with one another or put together. As with the Nectar, this makes the Paradise Plaza blender the best place to get this drink since there are unlimited Piesbehind the glass counter that you’re able to break.

Untouchable is a pretty helpful drink overall, especially with how grabby the zombies can get in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. It’s not as essential as Nectar and Fleetfoot, but it does have its benefits.

How To Make Spitfire

Dead Rising’s most unassuming Mixed Juice is the Spitfire, whichcauses Frank’s spit (which can be used by aiming and firing when unarmed) into a deadly weapon capable of taking out zombies with a headshot. The effect lasts for around three minutes.

Making the Spitfire is a bit more complicated than other drinks. The main ingredients are Ice Pops (don’t ask me why), Snacks, and Cooking Oil. Mixing two of each item together will result in the Spitfire, making it a bit more difficult to make than most. It’s easily made in the Food Court, though, since two of those ingredients are always there.

An explanation of Nectar in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.

Spitfire is a fun novelty if you’ve got the ingredients around to make it and can do a surprising amount of damage, but it’s not usually worth the time when there are so many other weapons around.

How To Make Energizer

Out of all of the Mixed Juices in Dead Rising, Energizer sounds like it has the best effect, as itmakes Frank completely invincible for a limited amount of time. While that’s a good buff, it’s also one of the hardest drinks to make, which makes it less valuable. The effect lasts for

Making an Energizer is a bit of a pain,as the main ingredient for is Cabbage, which infinitely spawns in Seon’s Food and Stuff in North Plaza. Cabbage can also be found in Cardboard Boxes occasionally, but it’s easiest to just stock up in Seon’s if you’re planning on making the drink. Cabbage can also be combined with Orange Juice for an Energizer, meaning it’s helpful to use the Paradise Plaza blender.

Energizer is a very useful tool if you’re planning ahead, but it’s such a pain to make that it’s not generally worth the effort most of the time.

How To Make Fleetfoot

My personal favourite out of all of the Mixed Juices is Fleetfoot, which was originally known as Quickstep in the original release of Dead Rising.Drinking this will cause Frank to move a lot faster than his max speed, which makes him capable of catching up to vehicles and going faster than a skateboard. The effect lasts for around 30 seconds in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.

The main ingredient for Fleetfoot is dairy products like Milk, Yogurt, and Coffee Creamer. It’s easy to find Milk and Yogurt in the Food Court near the two blenders there, but Coffee Creamers are also fairly common and even spawn in the Security Room on Day 1. Any combination of Milk, Yogurt, and Coffee Creamer results in a Fleetfoot.

If you’re in the Food Court,it’s also worth noting that two Wine makes a Fleetfoot, making it a very good place to stock up on one of the most helpful Mixed Juices since Wine always spawns there.

How To Make Randomizer

Perhaps the least useful drink in all of Dead Rising is the Randomizer. Consuming this grey sludge will rarely offer a random bonus from another mixed drink, but it usually just causes Frank to hold his stomach in pain every few minutes, which causes him to drop his item. The effect lasts for around three minutes, but the amount of stomach pain Frank has seems to be random.

One of the main ingredients for Randomizer is Cooking Oil, which is actually marked as a weapon in Dead Rising. Using this usually spoils most foods in the game and results in Randomizer, but sinceCooking Oil is found in the Food Court regularly, it’s a good place to combine it with Wine or any other food to get the Mixed Juice.

Thebest thing to do with a Randomizer is mix it with another Mixed Juice to hopefully get a different effect altogether. Mixing Zombait and Randomizer together will cause an Energizer to appear, which is much more helpful.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster actually offers a new book that lets you blend together any item in the game to make a Mixed Juice, which ends up being one of the best ways to make drinks. It’s not always reliable, but you’ve got a good chance of getting something other than Randomizer.
