OfMetaphor: ReFantazio’s five royal virtues - think social stats in the Persona series -Eloquencecan sometimes feel like the hardest to build. It also factors into early-game skill checks less frequently than Wisdom, Courage, or even Imagination, making Eloquence feel less relevant, too. But sure enough, there will come a couple of points at which you’ll be stopgapped from further progress without some impressively articulate talent.
Here’s how to gain Eloquence in Metaphor: ReFantazio. Follow our guide, and your protagonist will be speaking like a kingly candidate in due time. A lot will be riding on one particular source, but there are several more where that came from.
Eloquence-Building Tips
No matter which Royal Virtue you’re working toward raising, always focus on the newest settlements that you’ve reached. So,don’t keep working on Eloquence in Grand Trad once you can go to later locations.
This is because Metaphor: ReFantazio has a slightly odd condition within whichthe later in the story you gain access to a city, the more points you will receive when spending time building Royal Virtues.
With Eloquence, things are a tad more complicated. One of the game’s trophies involvesparticipating in all debates. These debates are situatedin various cities, and on specific dates, so be sure toengage in them no matter where they are.
All Debate Dates And Correct Responses
Sincedebates are excellent one-time sources of Eloquence(as well as MAG and more), we’ve documented them in a separate table. As you can see below,July is essentiallythemonth for debates, with a lone September exception.
July 7th
“What are your policies?”
July 9th
“Taxes benefit us all.”
July 16th
“Alcohol won’t bring equality.”
July 23rd
“We should help anyone.”
July 24th
“You only parrot Louis.”
July 26th
“The tribes must stand together.”

While the list isn’t exactly long, remember that the debates are major sources.Normal podium sources and time with Junah are both infinitely repeatable, too. Plus,a handful of side quests net you some Eloquence points.
So long as you remember tofocus on the most recently-unlocked townfor these podiums (barring debate dates), you shouldn’t have too much trouble maxing Eloquence in due time.
