In Chapter 1 ofLife Is Strange: Double Exposure, while you’re waiting to speak with Safi’s mom, Yasmin, you’ll overhear Gwen Hunter shouting something from the library down the hall. When you investigate, you find out there’s a book she wants but it’s locked in the cabinet.
Gwen will ask you to break into the cabinet for her so she can get the book. Since this is part of the main story, you will need to complete this task to progress. If you’re having trouble figuring out how to get into the locked book cabinet, we’ve got the information for you right here.
How To Break Into The Book Cabinet
Before you can start looking for something to use to break into the cabinet, you need toexamine the lock. Max will say something about looking for something “skinny and curved”. Now you canstart looking around for a tool to help you.
If you also examine the book in question, Max will mention thatthere is a copy of the book in the library. If, however, you try to give Gwen the library copy, she tells you that sheneeds the exact copy that’s in the cabinet.
There are a few items you can inspectfor possible lock-picking tools: a pen, a pair of scissors, and a spoon.The tool you’ll need is the spoon, which you can find at the coffee station over by Yasmin’s office door.
When you have the spoon in your possession, head back to the cabinet and interact with it to trigger thecut scene of Max opening it with the spoon.
After Gwen retrieves the book, she’ll ask you ifSafi ever showed you the manuscript she was working on. If you got Safi to tell you about the book deal earlier, you’ll have the option now totell Gwen what you know or keep Safi’s secret.
