Everyone loves a puzzle, right? Well,Romancing Saga 2: Revenge of the Sevenhas quite a few nasty yet rewarding puzzles that can provide some fantastic boons for your party and Empire. Of course, the trickier they are, the better the prize at the end. You wouldn’t expect anything otherwise!
There’s a pretty fiendish puzzle found out of the way on Comroon Island, accessible via Mowlie on the eastern side of the continent. Here, you may find the Seer’s Citadel, with the eponymous Seer being quite the devious puzzle master. Thankfully, the secret room only takes a little working-out to access.
How To Open The Locked Door In The Seer’s Citadel
You’ll visit theSeer’s Citadelduring the events surrounding Mt. Comroon, the volcano on Comroon Island.
While inside the Seer’s Citadel, you may have noticed that there’s alocked doorto the right ofthe one you passed through to reach the Seerfor the first time. This door will remainlocked until the Seer is no longer in the sigil room- which means you’ll need to complete the questCalming the Volcano. This will move him to his secret room.
Return to the citadel after completing the quest and getting Comroon to join the empire, and you’ll be able to pass through the previously locked door. This leads you along a linear path that takes you to another puzzle in an upper section of the citadel.
How To Unlock The Secret Door
Upon entering the building on top of the ground-floor level, you’ll quickly come to realise that you’re in a tower of five almost-identical floors. Each floor has four glowing cubes:
Each floor hasthree red cubes and one blue one, apart from the top floor, which has all red cubes. The cubes on the top floor, however, are interactable, and this is where you also find a familiar door with a sigil above it.
Each floor also has asign on the wall with one, two, three, or four gemstoneson it - these denote anorder.
On the top floor,interact with the cubes in the following order:
Upon completing this sequence, the door will open.
This door leads you to a sleeping Seer and his pet parrot, along with two treasure chests.
These contain theBook of Dark & Earth II(which allows you to research the Wraith Form spell at the Incantations Lab) and theLiberty Staff, which is a very powerful magical staff (especially when reforged).
