Dragon Ball: Sparking Zerois a fast-paced, nonstop fighting game with tons of unique characters with their special moves and combos. However, one thing players might neglect is the art of defense. So what better than to learn the most difficult defensive move, the Sonic Sway.

The Sonic Sway is one of the few defensive options players can use to avoid damage. Though quite difficult to get down, it is extremely rewarding when done correctly with the added benefit of looking cool. This guide will show you both the benefits of Sonic Sway and how to perform it consistently.

How To Perform A Sonic Sway

The Sonic Sway technique can be performed bypressing the Perception button right before an enemy’s attack lands. While this sounds simple enough, getting the timing right is much more difficult due to character attack animations. These different animations may cause you to mistime the Sonic Sway and could either leave you open to an attack or simply perform a normal counter.

Sonic Sway will not work against Ki-based attacks.

There is an extremely helpful method that involves sounds. When an enemy is attacking you,pay close attention and listen to the sound of each hit that lands on your guard. When performed correctly, your character willperform multiple dodgesanddrain one full Ki Gauge from your opponentbefore knocking them to mid-range.

You are unable to perform the Sonic Sway when an opponent has you in a combo/stunlock, be sure to always hold down the guard button when attempting a Sonic Sway.

Where To Practice Sonic Sway

you may practice the Sonic Sway by quicklyhopping into the Training Mode from the Main Menuandsetting the opponent’s behavioral strategy to Rush Chains. The Rush Chain behavior will force the enemy AI toexclusively engage with melee attacks, with small breaks in-between. It’s highly recommended that youpractice the Sonic Sway against every characterto get a better understanding of their timing.

Sonic Sway will never work against giant enemies such as Great Ape Vegeta or Janemba.
