Deadlockis a competitive, hero-based third-person shooter MOBA developed by Valve. Set in a steampunk world, players fight to control the lanes and ultimately eliminate the enemy’s Patron. Players can choose from a selection of characters, each with their own set of unique skills, abilities, and playstyles.

Vindicta, a victim of the Salem Witch Trials, received a second chance at life when her spirit was brought back to the mortal plane. She uses her spiritual powers to weaken her enemies and grant her the ability to take flight. This guide will go over how to use her abilities and give you a deeper understanding of the character.

The game is still in development. Expect a lot more balance changes and improvements over time.

Vindicta Abilities Overview

Vindicta uses a semi-automatic sniper rifle asher primary weapon that deals 68 damage per second (DPS). Holding down the shoot button will continuously fire the weapon. She also gains access to four unique abilities to give her an advantage against foes.

Assassinate

Use your scoped rifle to fire a powerful shot over long distances. Deal only partial damage until fully charged after 1s of being scoped. Does bonus damage to enemies with less than 50% health remaining. Landing a killing blow on a player with Assassinate grants you bonus souls.

How To Play Vindicta

You may think that being a character with a sniper means you must play at long range. It turns out thatto fully maximize Vindicta’s damage, you must be within medium rangeof your enemies. This is due todamage fall off, which lowers damage depending on how far your target is.

Certain items can be purchased to increase the distance before damage fall-off applies.

The Curiosity Shop in Deadlock display possible item upgrades to purchase.

At the start of the match, play safe and farm souls to upgrade your abilities, but be sure to punish the enemy if they get too close or fall back if you are low on health. Once your abilities become stronger and you’ve gotten the upper hand in your lane, you should look toleave your lane and help allies if they are struggling in theirs.

Assassinate is your best tool to farm souls. Make sure, in most cases, to finish off enemies with it.

Explanation

Early Game

Headshot Booster, Hollow Point Ward, Extra Stamina, Extra Charge, Extra Spirit, Mystic Burst

Vindicta relies heavily on her fast mobility and high damage. Building her kit with damage boosters and faster ability recharges in the early game to help with clearing lanes and ganking enemies.

Mid Game

Long Range, Combat Barrier, Enchanter’s Barrier, Bullet Resistance Shredder, Reactive Barrier

Once you’ve substantially upgraded your damage output, focus on increasing your sustainability. This allows you to make quick escapes or gives you a much better chance to come out on top against opponents.

Late Game

Sharpshooter, Rapid Recharge, Fortitude, Superior Stamina, Crippling Headshot, Lucky Shot

Finish up in the late game by topping off your damage and fully maximizing your abilities and overall health.

If you wish to pick up Glass Cannon instead of Lucky Shot, be warned, as it will greatly reduce your health.
