The enemies of the Imperium are boundless inSpace Marine 2.Taking them out as a single Ultramarine is a tall order, which is why you are always accompanied by squad members in all of Space Marine 2’s core modes. You and up to two players can fight the Tyranid and Chaos hordes through cooperative campaign missions, PvE Operations, and even competitive PvP matches.
Multiplayer has seen quite a bit of love in this installment, and getting into a multiplayer lobby is fairly straightforward once you gain access to the Battle Barge. This guide will cover how multiplayer works in Space Marine 2, how to invite friends to your lobby, and briefly overview every multiplayer activity.
How To Play Multiplayer
You must complete the Prologue to access the Battle Barge.
All of Space Marine 2’s multiplayer matchmaking takes place on the Battle Barge, this game’s version of a hub area.you may queue for multiplayer games by interacting with the terminal in the Launch Bay.Press Tab (M&K) or the Menu button (controllers) to bring up a fast-travel menu, then select “Launch Bay” to teleport directly to the terminal.

How To Invite Friends
If you want to get your friends into your Battle Barge,open the social tab (Y on PC and Xbox, Triangle on PlayStation).You can then invite your friends directly or through an invite code. Invite codes are generated in the invite menu beside your name, a symbol that looks like a key.

Multiplayer Modes
Excluding the Prologue mission, every mission in Space Marine 2 supports co-op for up to three players. To play co-op in the campaign, simply invite your friends to your Battle Barge before you start a campaign mission. It’s also worth noting thatyou play as Titus' squad in the co-op campaign; your multiplayer Astartes are tied to Operations and Eternal War.
Operations (PvE)
Operations are three-player offensives where your fireteam must complete a main objective while fighting hundreds of Tyranid and Chaos forces. They’re structured similarly to campaign levels but use your PvE multiplayer characters instead. There are six classes to choose from, complete with a 25-level progression system and multiple weapons to unlock.

This is used to purchase new weapons, character upgrades, and Astartes cosmetics through the Astartes Heraldry system. Finding hidden Servo-Skulls and defeating side bosses willalso awardArmoury Data, which can be used to unlock higher gear rarities. This is needed if you want to survive in higher difficulty levels.
Eternal War (PvP)
Eternal War is Space Marine 2’s competitive PvP experience. All game types are 6v6, pitting Astartes against Chaos Astartes. There are three game modes you can queue for:
Unlike Operations,PvP has a separate progression system with no class upgrades or gear rarities.Cosmetics are shared across both modes, but gear unlocks are excluded. The same class system is in place, so coordinate with your team to maximize your abilities and achieve victory.
