Olympus is the brand-new zone added toHades 2with the recent Olympic Update. There are additional deities to meet, new Keepsakes and Boons to experiment with, more materials to farm, and fearsome bosses to challenge. Getting to Olympus, however, requires a lot of work, especially if you are just starting.
This guide goes through everything there is to know about getting to Olympus, starting from unlocking the Surface to dealing with the HP-draining curse and defeating some major bosses. Also, be warned that there are some story-related spoilers in the guide.
How To Access The Surface
To reach Olympus, you will first need toaccess the Surface. When you try to reach the Surface initially, you will find it sealed off, andtoremove the barrier you will need to speak with Hermes on one of your runs. In the same run, you must reach the boss fight with Headmistress Hecate tounlock thePermeation of Witching-Wardsincantationat the Cauldron in the Crossroads.
To perform the incantation, you will need to gather these materials:
1x Cinder
3x Molly
It is crafted using an Alchemy recipe that requires:
After you have done the incantation, thewards blocking entry to the Surface will be removed, bringing you one step closer to Olympus.
How To Survive The Surface
Accessing the Surface is only half the battle; the moment youstep on the Surface, you will noticeyour HP decreasing gradually, making it impossible to explore the area. To prevent it, you willneed to perform another incantationcalledUnraveling a Fateful Bond, and similar to Permeation of Witching-Wards, this one requires a bit of legwork.
The first thing that you will need to do is to see ifMoros,Doom Incarnate appears at the Crossroads after a few failed runson the Surface. If he does not, be sure to follow these steps:
Once he is at the Crossroads, die on the Surface, andspeak with himto get theUnraveling a Fateful Bond incantation. To do it, you will need these materials:
How to Get
2x Moss
It is found on the Surface. Just run around the area looking for it before you die. Do not worry about progressing far into the region. Your primary objective is to gather Moss before dying because of the curse.
2xLotus
You can find it all over Oceanus.
2xNightshade
You can dig the Nightshade Seeds all across Erebus using the Silver Spade. Once found, perform the Flourishing Soil incantation to create two Soil Plots. Plant the Nightshade Seeds, complete a few runs, and collect the Nightshade.
2xThalamus
Similar to Nightshade, you may grow it in the Crossroads. You will need to find Origin Seeds, which can only be found in the Chaos realm.
After collecting all the required materials, do the Unraveling a Fateful Bond incantation to explore the Surface without any HP-drain curse.
How To Reach Olympus
To finally reach Olympus, you will need tocomplete two zones, theCity of Ephyraand theRift of Thessaly.
To progress through the City of Ephyra, you will need to enter various rooms todestroy a total of six pylons. Once destroyed, these pylons summon spirits that will chase after enemies in the area. There arealways more than six roomsin the region, so be sure to double-check them before entering.
At the end of the zone, you will need todefeatPolyphemus,Infamous Cyclops.
The Rift of Thessaly, on the other hand, is fairly simple because it’s pretty linear, requiring you to navigate Poseidon’s fleet. At the end of the zone, you willgo againstEris,Strife Incarnate— a much tougher boss battle.
The best way to beat Eris is toalways be on the move, and you will not get a lot of windows to attack her, so be sure to make the most out of them.
Aside from Eris, you will also need todefeat a mini-boss namedCharybdis.
Once you have defeated Polyphemus and Eris, the path to Olympus will be open. There is a lot to do and explore in Olympus, includingdefeating Prometheus,Titan of Foresight, but for now, this is the farthest you can explore in Hades 2.
