There are several bosses inCore Keeper, and among them, you’ll find a handful of slime bosses that provide an optional challenge. One of these optional slime bosses that you can defeat is the King Slime. This may sound familiar to Terraria fans, as it was part of a crossover between the two games!
In this guide, we are going to take a look at how to defeat King Slime. Overall, this process isn’t too difficult, but the real trouble is learning how to summon him. We’ll also take a look at the loot you may obtain by defeating King Slime.
How To Summon King Slime
In order to summon King Slime, you will need toplace a Crown Summoning Idol on a slime boss rune.Let’s break this down and look at each one of these.
Crown Summoning Idol
This is a unique item that looks like alittle blue skull.The Crown Summoning Idol hasless than a one percent chance to drop from blue, orange, red, purple, and lava slimes.Additionally, it can drop fromslime vessels found where slimes spawn(these are like breakable chests).
While less than a one percent chance sounds daunting, don’t worry! Slimes typically appear in groups, sowe suggest finding a gathering of slimes. One great location to farm slimes isnear the arena where you fought Glurch the Abominous Mass.This area is usually filled with slimes.
If you have a strong enough weapon that kills slimes in one hit, you can justrun around and constantly kill them until the idol drops.
Here at TheGamer, we used this method of killing slimes in Glurch the Abominous Mass’s arena. With this,it only took us a few minutes until the Crown Summoning Idol dropped.
Slime Boss Rune
A slime boss rune is essentiallythe place where slime bosses appear.While there are several slime bosses out there,the easiest one to find belongs to Glurch the Abominous Mass.
This bossappears relatively close to the core,which means that its rune does as well. Remember earlier when we talked about farming slimes in this area? These two areas are one and the same, which means thatyou can obtain the idol and already be in the place you need to be!
The slime rune is on the ground, and will probably be coated in slime at this point. You canuse a shovel to clear this,and thenplace the Crown Summoning Idol down in the center,causing it to activate.
How To Defeat King Slime
King Slime doesn’t have the most amount of mechanics, buthe can be quite fast, especially if you are running through the slime that spreads across the ground.In general, King Slime willbounce around and leap towards you.When his health is low, his movements will become quicker, but the basic attack method will stay the same.
Additionally, King Slimeperiodically summons blue slimes(one for every 700 HP lost). These slimes aren’t too tough, but if you do a lot of damage to King Slime,they can quickly become overwhelming.
We recommendfighting King Slime with a ranged weapon and running ahead of him.When at a safe distance, you can face him and attack. As King Slime bounces over, you can then run away. Anyoff-hand items that allow you to dash would be good here,giving you a chance to quickly flee right before he smashes down on the ground.
If the blue slimes that are summoned give you trouble,don’t be afraid to clear some of them out. No more will spawn if you aren’t actively attacking King Slime, so you cantake them out while avoiding his attacks.
Alternatively, you canplace down some spikes to do damage to these smaller slimes.This may not kill them, but it can reduce the amount of hits it will take you to kill them all.
Rewards For Defeating King Slime
As a reward for defeating King Slime, you will have a100 percent chance to obtain all the following items.This will all becontained within King Slime’s Chestwhich appears where the boss was defeated.
You will be able to fight King Slime again, but to do so, you’ll need toplace another Crown Summoning Idol on the slime rune.If you really want to farm his drops, this is a good option.
