Throne and Libertyhas many ways for you to express yourself, whether that be from your character’s appearance to the weapons you choose to wield in combat or the unique flair you apply to your gear via Transmogrification. And, like most MMOs, there are many ways for you to go all-out with altering what your gear looks like.
If you’re unfamiliar with Transmogrification, it essentially allows you to change the appearance of your currently equipped gear to a piece you may like better. This enables you to keep the stats and the benefits of what you currently have on you but change its looks to something you prefer instead.
How To Transmog Gear In Throne And Liberty
Before we dive into how to beginmodifying your gear in Throne and Liberty,we want to address the fact thatyou can currently only change the appearance of your current gear with Premium Outfits and Weapons. This also means that youcan only edit the color and design of Premium Outfits, which can get pretty pricey.
Whilegear earned in the game will eventually become part of this system, that isn’t the case presently, meaning if you want access to this, you must fork over some real money for cosmetic items. These can be obtained via theShop, Battle Pass, and Zenus’s Star Shop.
How To Transmog Your Outfit
Now that the means of Transmogrifying your gear are out of the way let’s go over how you canchange the appearance of your currently equipped gearto something more flashy. To do this, pop open theMenuand selectMirror Boutiqueunderneath the Character section. Once in this menu, select theOutfitoption.
Whenever you’re on theOutfitpage, you will see asection on the leftthat showcases all youravailable Premium Outfitsunderneath theListtab. Simplyclick and drag your preferred Outfitto theEquipped Outfits sectiondirectly above tochange your current gearto the selected Outfit.
Youcan do this with the Outfit and Helmet, allowing you tocompletely change how your character’s armor looks while maintaining the stats and bonuses of your currently equipped gear. Here, you may also change the look of your Premium Outfits, but we will touch on that a bit later, as it’s more involved than you may think. For now, let’s tackle the Weapons!
How To Transmog Your Weapons
Transmogrifying your Weaponsis handled very similarly to how Outfits are handled. To do this, open theMenu, access theMirror Boutique, and then select theWeapon Appearanceicon to open the Weapon Appearance window. Once you are here, you will be able toswap the appearance of your currently equipped Weapons with Premium Weapon Skins.
Again, thesePremium Weapon Skins are purely cosmeticand are obtained via the game’sShop, Battle Pass, and even the Zenus’s Star Shop, which is an additional store that’s part of the Battle Pass, allowing you to earn more goodies by leveling through your Battle Pass.
Once you have a Premium Weapon Skinand are at theWeapon Appearancescreen, look to the left to find a list of all the Weaponsin the game.Select the Weapon you wantto change its appearance, thendrag the Premium Weapon Skin icon over to the right side of the screento swap its appearance with your currently equipped Weapon.
How To Change The Appearance Of Outfits In Throne And Liberty
As touched on earlier, you cancustomize your Premium Outfits furtherbychanging their colors and applying unique designs, allowing you to express yourself more than ever. However, thiscan come at a steep price if you aren’t careful,so let’s go over the basics first.
In order to do this, you will need toget your hands on Dye and Sewing Thread, items that areonly available in the game’s Shop. However, there is a slight twist. While youcan purchase these items with Lucent, the game’s Premium Currency, which costs real money, youcan also use Ornate Coinsto obtain them, which is a godsend for this.
Sewing Threadwill cost50 Lucent/Ornate Coins a pop, with theDyegoing for20 Lucent/Ornate Coints. And that’sonly for one thingof it. Keep in mind that thelowest Lucent bundleyou can purchase is500 Lucent, which is$10.So, if possible, werecommend using Ornate Coinsto acquire your Dye and Sewing Thread.
You can only purchase 15 Dye and 15 Sewing Thread a week with Ornate Coins, but you likely won’t be modifying your gear THAT much just yet, as there aren’t too many options available. It’s best to stock up on these items ahead of time and then use them on Outfits you really love and want to customize further!
How To Get Ornate Coins
Ornate Coinsareobtained by finding Collection Codex Pagesaround the world. These are thePurple Pages and Booksscattered around each region.Finding these in the wild will reward you with Ornate Coins, allowing you topurchase Dye and Sewing Thread with them.
Currently, youcan also obtain a ton of Ornate Coins via Twitch Drops,so get on that before they’re gone. You canget HUNDREDS of them by simply watching several hours ofParticipating Streams. We heavily advise doing this if you want to customize your gear without spending an arm and a leg.
How To Change Your Outfit’s Appearance
WithDye and Sewing Threadin your possession, head back to theOutfitpage via theMirror Boutique.Once here, equip the Premium Outfit you want to modify, thenlook to the rightof the screen to find thecustomization menu. Here, you canapply different Dyes and Patternsto the Outfit.
There will betwo tabshere, one for your Outfit and another for your Helmet,so if you wander around with your Helmet on, you will likely want to tweak that as well. As you can tell from the image above, you will need LOTS of Dye if you wish to change the color of every Partof the Outfit. And,depending on the colors you choose, it can be even steeper.
Fortunately, changing the Pattern of the Outfit will only run you a single Sewing Thread, which can likely change in the future if they enable you to apply multiple Patterns. Additionally,if you want to use a Pattern for the Helmetas well, you willneed at least two Sewing Threadto do that.
You canchange so many Parts of the Outfit, allowing you tocompletely change its look, which is an excellent feature overall. While wewish there were more avenues to obtain Ornate Coins, Dye, and Sewing Thread, this is the only methodto get your hands on them in the game and modify your Premium Outfits.
