As you progress through the main story inThrone and Liberty, you’ll come across a vampire-themed quest called ‘Pledge Loop’. This quest is near the end ofchapter five of the Adventure Codex, and it is of particular importance as it unlocks your very first guardian skill,Vampire Slayer Ezekiel.
This quests starts after speaking toJacque HanderinStonguard Castle. He’ll send you off to theTemple of Sylaveth, where you’ll need to solve a quickjumping puzzle, interact with theFloating Thought, and then defeat the bossLeonardasbefore obtaining your new and powerful skill.
Where To Find The Temple Of Sylaveth
The Temple of Sylaveth is locatedjust north of Stoneguard Castlewhich is in the southern region on the map. After entering the Temple of Sylaveth you’ll come down to a circular room. Scarla’s Ghost awaits where you’ll need to complete the dialogue. She motions for you to interact witha glowing orb on a pedestal in the center of the room.
How To Reach The Floating Thought
Interacting with thisMemory Signwill create obstacles that you can then traverse over and also cause some of the gates along the outer walls to be passed through.
After activating the Memory Sign you’ll only have 20 seconds before the objects in the room and gates close to get to the next Memory Sign.

How To Beat Leonardas
Continue traveling through the passageways,and they will lead you to the vampire boss, Leonardas.
This is afairly straightforward fight, using basic attacks, lunging strikes, and occasionally teleporting behind you. Mostweapon combinationswill be able to easily take out this boss, but do be aware thatLeonardas will occasionally become immune to damage.
At this point, you may only deal damage to him afterinteracting with the Pledge Artifact. This imbues you with the power of Ezekiel, which gives you asubstantialdamage buff.
With this Guardian skill unlocked, the strength of your build will improve immensely, and there are many more guardian skills that you’ll unlock throughout Throne and Liberty.
