Upgrading weapons and armor inThrone and Libertyworks a little differently in comparison to MMOs you may be used to. This guide will cover where to navigate toEquipment Enchanting Icon, the items you will need to consume in the upgrade process, and the mechanics and quirks of the system overall.

The upgrading, or ‘enchanting’ system as the game likes to call it, requires various materials each time an item is upgraded. Each of these items can be gathered from various sources, and sometimes also upgraded from weaker versions of themselves.

How To Use Growthstones To Enchant Gear

you may access the gear upgrading interface by pressing the period ‘.’ keybind, or opening the menu and navigating to ‘Equipment Enchanting’under the ‘Item’ section.

Each type of item will require different types of Growthstones. The main resources used for upgrading items are named logically based on their item type:

Throne and Liberty uncommon hood maxes out at level 6.

Depending on the rarity level of your item, it will require different rarities of Growthstones. Here are all the Growthstones and which corresponding rarities they are used for. We have included the “Weapon” style growthstones, but the same goes for each item type:

Once you have upgraded your item to a certain level, you can no longer upgrade it further. For example, if you have anUncommon (Green)headpiece, you can only level it up tolevel six. Level six is then the maximum upgrade level for that item.

Rare and Epicquality items will be able to reachlevel nine. This item can then be transferred into another item of a higher tier, which we cover later in this guide.

This is unlike the skill upgrade system, where once you reach the maximum level for an Uncommon (Green) skill it then becomes a Rare (Blue) skill.

As you upgrade an item, higher levels will require greater amounts of Growthstones and Sollant to achieve a full level.

Equipment Upgrade Rate, Explained

Every time you use Growthstones to upgrade an item, it willuse the amount shown and will ‘roll’ to see how much the item gets upgraded by.

This means each time you spend Growthstones and Sollant to upgrade an item, your item will get closer to the next level, but not necessarily achieve a full level. If you’re lucky, there is a ten percent chance to grow a full 80 percent of the item’s upgrade bar.

% Growth of Item

The above chart can be seen in-game when hovering over the ‘?’ beside theEquipment Upgrade Rate. This means you have a 40 percent chance to gain 25 percent of the item’s exp growth bar, a 30 percent chance to gain 30 percent of the growth bar, and so on.

If you are lucky, you will roll a fewGreater or Special rolls and be able to upgrade your item much fasterand with much less Growthstones used.

If you successfully level up the item, 56 percent of the experience that was not required for that level will carry over into the next upgrade level of the item.

How To Transfer Upgraded Gear To Higher Tiers

Each rarity of item willmax out at a certain point and no longer be upgraded. When items hit this point, they can then be sacrificed (transferred) to enhance a new itemyou have of the next tier / rarity. You can also transfer gear even if it hasn’t hit the maximum enchanted level. When you transfer a gear piece to another item, the original item will be destroyed.

It’s worth noting that you’re able to transfer different weapon types to each other. For example, if you have a blue dagger +4, you can transfer this onto a blue greatsword and turn it into +4 as well.

This allows you to feel more free about upgrading your gear while still leveling up and feel safe to know that your materials used will still be useful if a better item comes along.

When transferring gear, the old item’s gained experience will be applied to the new item. You can transfer an item to another item of the same rarity and you will keep the level (as mentioned above); but you can alsotransfer a lower-quality item into a higher-quality item.

The main levels you want to achieve when moving an item of lesser rarity to an item of higher rarity are as follows:

It’s important to remember you will get the most out of your item if you transfer at its max level for that rarity. Uncommon items can get to plus 6 and Rare items can get to plus 9.

With this knowledge, you’ll find yourself utilizing the item enchanting system often as there is little risk in putting upgrade materials into the wrong items. Feel free to enchant as you play, knowing that you can always transfer the experience that item has gained.Use thetwo main levels mentioned to get the most out of your lower-rarity itemsbefore transferring to a higher rarity.
