Doctor Doom’s terror and valor are well-known to the habitants of theFortniteisland. Over the course of Chapter 5 Season 4, Doom has successfully reigned over multiple parts of the island, boasting mighty structures and henchmen who do his bidding.
Doom’s most recent addition to the island includes another island that floats high above the ground, and is open to anyone who’s willing to take over. The isle spawns mid-game, but do keep in mind that there’s a very small chance that you’ll get to capture it. In case the isle does spawn, there are a few things to take note of before you decide to become the next master of science and sorcery.
Where Is The Isle Of Doom?
Unlike the Loot Island that rifts in every match,Doom Island typically has a five percent spawn rate,though this is subject to change.
Nonetheless, it has a limited spawn rate, making it extremely tricky to take over, regardless of how many people are in your squad. Moreover, the island spawns towardthe fourth storm circle, so you’ll need to survive until the island rifts in.
Fortunately, every time the island appears,the game will notify you. Along with this, the location will be marked on your map, and you can head to this isle once it’s in the game. It will be floating in the sky, and you’ll have to either use a Rift or Zipline that takes you directly to the island.
How To Capture The Isle Of Doom
So, the Isle of Doom finally rifted into the game? Awesome! Time to capture it. Once the island fully spawns, take a Rift or Zipline, and you’ll find yourself next to themarked circle with the Cauldron of Powerin the center. As long as you’re in this area, you’ll start capturing the isle. Even though this islikely going to be a hot spoteach match, it’s worth your time and efforts.
This isn’t particularly easy and takes a while to do. We recommend carrying mobility items likeShuri’s Black Panther ClawsorWar Machine’s Hover Jetswith you. These are fairly simple to find in the game, and help you stay agile if enemy players decide to fight you. Additionally,Mysterio’s Stealth Medallionis an excellent item that can help you stay hidden as you capture the isle.
If you’re playing in a squad, ask a teammate to guard the corners of the isle. In the meantime, you can stay vigilant of your vicinity and focus on capturing the zone.Using a Shield Bubble Jr. to guard your positioncan be helpful too.
Once you’ve captured it, you’ll see a hologram of Doom appear, and nowyou can interact with it. Doing so plays a small animation where you turn into Doom, letting you wield the Armor of Doom. In simpler words, you’re now ready to take over the island and if someone tries to get in your way, let them meet their demise!
How To Use The Armor Of Doom
Remember Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet in Fortnite? Well, the Armor of Doom is pretty similar to that and allows you to wreak havoc on the Fortnite island. You’ll have to let go of previously held items and weapons, asthe Armor of Doom is the only thing you’ll be wieldingfor the rest of the match. So, how overpowered is this thing?
Upon acquiring the Armor of Doom, you instantly have500 Health along with 500 Shield. Moreover, you can now deal four kinds of damage, all devastating in nature.
Scorch Beam
Right-Click | L2 | LT
Holding this down fires a laser beam that continuously deals 15 damage per hit.
Foot Dive
Space | Cross | A
When midair, using this lets you dive and crash into the ground, dealing 70 damage.
What’s The Best Gameplay Strategy?
It may be tempting to simply press all the buttons at once and inflict all sorts of damage. However,each power has a unique way of damaging opponents, and using it wisely can win you the match more efficiently.
Arcane Blastis best usedagainst a single opponent, as it has a reliable rate of fire and the three-burst shots are less punishing when aiming. On the other hand,Mystical Bombishighly effectiveagainsta group of enemies.
Double-pressing the Jump buttonlets you hover for a while. Having an altitudinal advantage helps you keep a better track of your opponents.
Holding down theScorch Beamlets you aim atenemies who are trying to run awayfrom you. Simply hold down the attack until the beam obliterates that sweaty player you despise so much. No one runs from Doom, not even the most skilled players.
Using Foot Dive is a great way of catching opponents off guard. When midair,point the camera in the direction of your enemiesand trigger this ability. You’ll stomp down with a powerful attack, and look absolutely cool while doing so.
The abilities have a short cooldown period, so avoid firing all your abilities right after another.
