The Sims 4: Life & Deathintroduces a host of new features to the game, one of which is a new aspiration. The Ghost Historian aspiration draws on the new Thanatology skill as well as the writing skill. You’ll explore some of the secrets of Ravenwood and earn some rewards in the process.
Ghost Historian is the first aspiration to reward a new ability for Sims. Completing the quest chain will allow your Sim to write a new genre of novel, horror. So, if you want to catalogue the creepy goings-on in Ravenwood as a bestseller, then look no further.
Ghost Historian Aspiration Guide
The Ghost Historian aspiration comes withLife & Death, and to complete it you’ll need to spend time exploring some of thenew features of the pack.
You’ll find the Ghost Historian Aspirationunder the Knowledge categorytowards the bottom of the list. It’s afour-part aspirationwhich focuses on building the newthanatology skill, alongside thewriting skill. You’ll also need toexplore the crypts in Ravenwoodand make contact with amysterious residentto meet all the criteria.
If your Sim already has the writing skill at level 7 or above it will be a big boost in this aspiration, since this is the lengthiest requirement.
Reward: Write Horror Novels
After completing thethird level of the aspiration,which involves achieving level 7 writing skill, you’llunlock the ability for your Sim to write horror booksfrom the ‘write’ menu on any computer. This new genre of book will be availableonly for Sims who achieve this levelof the Ghost Historian aspiration.
Reward: Ghost Whisperer Trait
TheGhost Whisperer traitwill allow your Sim tospeak more in depth about all things eerie and macabre. They will unlocknew social interactionsrelating to their spooky discoveries and any published horror works.
Ghost Whisperer Sims will alsomake friends more easily with ghostsand will seek them out, be it at home or work. They’ll alsogain positive buffsfrom being aroundghosts, crows, and even Grimhimself.
This trait is ahuge boost if you are a macabre Simor looking into entering theReaper or Undertaker career.Being more comfortable around ghosts will alsobenefit residents of the Mourningvale neighbourhoodin particular, which has a thin veil between life and the afterlife and hosts festivals and events well attended by ghosts.
All Aspiration Levels And Tasks
There arefour levels to the aspiration.It’s not especially challenging, but it isquite lengthy and repetitivein places withtwo skills to level, writing and thanatology, and a couple ofother tasks being repeated.
Despite the blandness, if you are prepared to put the time (or cheat codes) into levelling the writing skill, the rest is easy to do during your everyday life in Ravenwood, and thereward trait makes interacting with ghost Sims much easier.
Befriend a Ghost
You can find ghosts all over Ravenwood, but they are most easily found dancing by theclock tower in Mourningvale, playing chess in theCrow’s Crossing park, or drinking inThe Final Draught in Whispering Glen. You can also pay a visit to theAfterlife Anonymous festival.
Achieve Level 2 Thanatology SKill
Thanatology can be levelled byresearching theories on a PC, reading askill bookor performingsocial interactionsto ask residents about the local area’s stories.
Achieve Level 2 Writing Skill
Levelling the writing skillrequires you toown a PC.From here you can find thewrite optionand then practice writing or choose to write different kinds of content to level your skill.

Befriend Another Ghost
Once again, this iseasy enough in Ravenwood. If you are in theReaper career, you may already have done this while talking toghostly colleaguesduring your shifts since socialising with them is a daily task.
Find a Rare Item in a Crypt
Every neighbourhood has at least one cryptin the area. you’re able to also find two in theEternal Hollow Cemetary in Crow’s Crossing.Click on the crypt and choose’Explore the Underground Crypts’This will start a text adventure, during which you can find rare items.
Achieve Level 3 Thanatology Skill
This is the same as before.Keep reading and researching, either the theories online or the skill books.

Once more, you mustventure into the underground cryptsin search of rare treasures.
Make Contact with Edith
The easiest way to make successful contact with Edith is tocomplete Alice’s quest chain.However, you can justapproach Edith at the well of longing and regretby the house in Crow’s Crossing and select ‘attempt to communicate.’ Youdo not have to be able to initiate a conversationto get the reward for this goal.
Achieve Level 7 Writing Skill
This is thehardest and most time-consuming elementof the aspiration. However, completing this third level unlocks the ability to write horror novels.

Earn Royalties from Publishing Books
You’ll need to earn$2000 from royalties,but with three horror novels under your belt, this shouldn’t be too difficult.
