Summary
Square Enixkicked off its Form-Ism range of figures in 2023 and even though there’s still no indication of when we’ll be getting a newKingdom Heartsgame, it was only a matter of time until someone from the series joined the collection. It was also very likely the first Kingdom Hearts addition to the Form-Ism collection was Sora, and now that likelihood has become a reality asthe very first Sora Form-Ism figurine has been revealed.
The detailed Sora figure features the protagonistas he appears at the beginning of Kingdom Hearts 2, not only wearing the same attire that he does at the start of the sequel, but alsowielding the Kingdom Key keyblade. The figure captures Sora in an action pose, made to look like he is pointing his keyblade at an enemy while standing on a yellow Kingdom Hearts crown that has been designed to look the same as the one you’ll find on Sora’s necklace.
Even though the latest addition to the Form-Ism figures range hasn’t found its way onto any of the official Square Enix stores yet, there is somewhere you can place your pre-order for the new collectible.Aitai Kuji’s listing for the Sora figure is already live, and it’s not as expensive as you might expect.Sora’s new figure is 6,550 yen which is roughly $44. It will need to be shipped from Japan though which means shipping will increase its price quite a bit.
Shipping to the US from Aita Kuji will add at least 3,650 yen to the cost of the figure, bringing the price up to around $68. The estimated release date of the figure is March 2025 so if you’re able to contain your excitement and not place a pre-order right away, there’s a chance the figure is eventually added to Square Enix’s US site, possibly before it ships in March. Other Form-Ism figures of single characters are priced between $40 and $60 on the official Square site so hopefully Sora will fall into that same bracket.
Kingdom Hearts 2 Sora Form-Ism Figure
Square Enix launched its range of Form-Ism figures in 2023, and in 2024, Kingdom Hearts joined the range. Sora was naturally the first character from the series to join the Form-Ism collection, the design for the figure based on the way Sora looks at the beginning of Kingdom Hearts 2.
Even though there isn’t even a release window forKingdom Hearts 4, let alone a firm release date, new merch of the series continues to be revealed and released on an almost weekly basis. Last week,Super Groupies revealed an extensive range of new merchfeaturing scarves, sneakers, and more representing six different characters. The week before that,real-life versions of the skateboards from Kingdom Hearts 2were revealed.
