Summary

Sega has confirmed that unlikeLike a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name,Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaiiwill be getting a physical release worldwide.

Over the years,Ryu Ga Gotoku Studiohas made a name for surprising players and has done some pretty wild things with theLike a Dragonseries, from making a zombie spin-off toturning the mainline entries into turn-based RPGs. You might think that RGG is all out of tricks and surprises, but it’s done it yet again with the announcement of a game that finally stars Majima.

The Mad Dog of Shimano getting his own dedicated spin-off game is already a treat, but the whole situation was made even betterwhen it was revealed to be a pirate-themed game with swashbuckling combat. If that wasn’t enough, the Like a Dragon Gaiden-esque game has already been confirmed to correct a mistake made with The Man Who Erased His Name.

Majima’s Pirate Yakuza Game Will Get A Physical Release Worldwide

I am, of course, talking about the fact thatLike a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name sadly didn’t get a physical release in most parts of the world. It did get one in Japan, but if you were in the US and UK and didn’t want to digitally download it, you were stuck importing it over.

That isn’t the case with Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, though. Following the game’s reveal,RGG Studio posted a tweet confirming that it’ll have a physical release, saying, “It be full speed ahead on digital & physical pre-orders, ye scurvy dogs”.A collector’s edition has also already been revealed for the game, which is a nice touch alongside a normal physical release.

It’s not clear why Sega changed its mind for Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, but it’s likely due to the massive success of Infinite Wealth and the backlash it faced when The Man Who Erased His Name was announced to be digital only. Whatever the reason, it’s definitely a step in the right direction.
