Quick Links
The Longbow inThrone and Libertyis a weapon that’s an integral part of multiple classes. It is, without a doubt, a ranged weapon that is capable of gaining bonuses from being a deep distance from your target.
The Longbow has quite a bit of flexibility, capable of dishing out significant damage, debuffing enemies, buffing allies, and healing, all in one. It’s a weapon that’s going to see use in quite a few different builds because of its versatility, and becoming familiar with it is going to be helpful.
Longbow Weapon Combinations
For the most part, weapons that fit with the Longbow’s rangeare going to be the ones that fit the best. That’s not to say you couldn’t play the Longbow with a melee weapon alongside it, but it would just take some creative skill choices and character building to make function.
Wand And Tome
Combining the Longbow with theWand and Tomemakes for a build that has asingular focus: healing.
It can still dish out damage, though, with a combination ofsingle-target and area-of-effect (AoE)that blends together very well. But both of these weapons havegreat support functionality, and make for a lifeline for your allies.
Crossbow
Bringing the Crossbowalong gives youa lot of damage potential, and works some interestingSkill Specialization synergiestogether, in regards to theGaleeffect.
This will largely be asingle-target focused damage build, butGale provides some AoE potential, and it has some support functionality, as well.
Staff
Bringing the Longbow with theStaff makes forone of the premier damage optionsin Throne and Liberty; certainly for a ranged build, in particular.
TheStaff has some incredible damage potentialon its own with both single-target and multi-target attacks, and theLongbow accentuatesthat with its ownsingle target damage and debuffing capabilities.
What Are The Stat Priorities?
Stat priorities for the longbow aregoing to depend somewhat on the role you’re looking to fill. But, the stats that you’re going to be upgrading at least somewhat are going to besimilar across the board, you just might prioritize them in a different order.
Wisdom
If you’re building for aHealer, Wisdom is going to be your best friend. You’ll need to be able to use abilities the moment they become necessary, and for some more difficult content or PvP, youmight need to use healing abilities constantly often.
If yourmaximum Manadoesn’t provide a big enough buffer, or yourMana regencannot keep up, then you won’t be able to heal when your allies need you.
Dexterity
Dexterity is always going to be one of themost important damage stats to upgrade, because itincreases the likelihood of you dealing critical damage.
While dealing crits is always going to be a dice roll, you canheavily stack those dice in your favor by upgrading your Dexterity, and that’s going toincrease your damage considerably.
Perception
Perception is another important stat to keep in mind, because it’s going toincrease your likelihood of actually hitting your enemyin the first place.
You aren’t going to score a crit on an enemy that you miss, so actuallylanding your hit has to be the first step.
What Are The Best Skills?
The best skill choices for the Longbow are againgoing to depend on your role, but that being said, there’s nothing wrong with keeping a few healing skills in the mix as a Damage Dealer. It’ll boost your survivability, and help keep pressure off your Healers. Apart from that, it’s going todepend on the interactions with your other weapon’s skills.
Longbow
The Longbow active skills generally do better the more effects each skill is interacting with. Certain skills inflict effects that other skills make use of, and with the right rotation, you can keep this up more or less forever.
Description
Deadly Marker
This is going to be abread-and-butter abilityfor most Damage Dealers, and can’t hurt to include as a Healer, either. It’s going tobuff your own and your teammates' damage to your target, and reduce skill cooldowns.
Healing Touch
This is going to be yourprimary healing abilityin regards to the Longbow. You cankeep this upmore or less permanently because of the short cooldown.
Nature’s Blessing
This is a more involved heal with alonger cooldown, but it doesremove a Weaken effecton top of the fairly substantialhealth regen and Mana regenthat it provides.
Ensnaring Arrow
In a vaccuum, this ability doesn’t seem great. Butcombined with the Steady Aim passive skill, this is going toincrease your crit chances greatlyon the enemies that this skillbinds/shackles.
Decisive Sniping
Anextremely high-damage ability, this takes a second to fully get off, but doesmassive damagewhen it does, andincreases your critical chancesfor a short period afterward. It also has apositive interaction with Whirlpoolin the Skill Specialization, along withincreased damage against CC affected targets.
Zephyr’s Nock
Dealssolid damage, andincreased damage the further you are from the target. It also dealsmore damage for each Gale stackthe target has.
Strafing
Aneasy quick-fire ability, with the option to recast immediately, andeach hit applies one stack of Gale, setting up other skill interactions.
Brutal Arrow
One of the fewAoE attackswith the Longbow, this can be Specialized toinflict Galeon the location.
The passive skills for the Longbow accentuate what the active skills are going to do, either making those active skills easier to make good use of, in the case of Earth’s Blessing, or amplifies their effects, like Steady Aim.
Rapidfire Stance
If you’restanding still, thisincreases your attack speed and hit chances considerably. If you’re getting this boost regularly, it will lessen the priority of your Perception stat somewhat, but not entirely.
Steady Aim
This is amust-have passive if you’re using Ensnaring Arrow, and you really should be running both of these. Itincreases crit chances substantially on Bound or Shackled targets.
Sniper’s Sense
Thefurther you are from your target, thegreater your critical chance and damageis going to be.
Roxie’s Arrowhead
A small chance tofire an additional arrowthat does slightly less damage. This isn’t a game changer, but if you have the extra slot, it’s extra damage. This isparticularly useful when running with the Crossbow.
Distorted Sanctuary
If you’re running as aHealer, this is going to be helpful, increasing endurance and health recovery from skillsby a percentage for each nearby party member.
Earth’s Blessing
An easy inclusion if you’re running as aHealer, thisincreases health regen and recoveryfrom skills.
These active skills for Wand and Tome to be included in a build with a Longbow are mostly all about healing or support. Each of these is going to help teammates in one way or another, and in certain cases, apply a damage-over-time effect on enemies, as well.
Touch of Despair
Because of the passive abilityVampiric Contract, Touch of Despair is agreat healing ability because it inflicts Curse, on top of it being a strong damage ability, as well.
Corrupted Magic Circle
Thisinflicts Curse on a radius of enemies, setting all of them upfor theVampiric Contractinteraction.
Time for Punishment
Thislessens the target’s skill damage reduction, setting your allies up forincreased damage, and inflicts Curse.
Blessed Barrier
Applies anoverall defense increase on an ally, as well eitherincreasing their healing receivedduring the day,or enduranceat night.
Invincible Wall
While this isn’t truly invincible, it doesprovide an ally with a hefty shield, and much like Blessed Barrier, isgood to toss on an ally that’s going to be in the thick of things.
Fountain of Life
Thiscreates a healing effecton the ground, healing allies that are inside of it over time. This doesn’t have a huge radius, but thatradius can be increasedinSkill Specialization, and also add a Mana Recovery effect.
Swift Healing
An easy,low-cost healthat can be used multiple times in a row when Specialized.
Clay’s Salvation
Aheal for all allies in range, and that range can be upgraded in Specialization. Not as cheap or easy as Swift Healing, but this canheal multiple targets.
The passive skills for the Wand and Tome, for the most part, make everything about this build more convenient, either amplifying healing, increasing Mana, or both. In the case of Vampiric Contract, it’s going to increase your healing output tremendously.
Vampiric Contract
This isvitally important, and is going tocause more healing for your allies the more often you’re inflicting Curse on enemies. As long as allies are attacking the victims of Curse, they’re going to behealing themselves for the damage they deal.
Devotion and Emptiness
Improves healing and cooldownsduring the day, anddamage and cooldownsat night. A bit more favorable for Healers during the daytime, but a boost regardless.
Wraith’s Beckon
This is going to reduce the amount of effort you’ll need to upkeep your Curse on targets, with itimproving Curse duration and status chance.
Noble Revival
Askill heal percentage boostper 1,000 maximum Mana; adefinite pickup as a Healer.
Saint’s Oath
Particularly useful for PvP, thisincreases your healing outputwhen you take skill damage.
Selfless Soul
Thisincreases your Mana regen and healingwhen you heal allies; if you’replaying a Healer, there isno reason not to include this.
The Crossbow has a lot of active skills that interact specifically with the Longbow, particularly in regards to Gale. You’ll be getting that Gale effect off much more if you’re using these skills, and with these Skill Specializations.
Quick Fire
Combining both bows togetheris where you’re going toget the most out of the Gale effectin Skill Specialization, andQuick Fire can quickly and easily apply Galeto targets.
Mortal Mark
A great skill on its own, andperfect to run alongsideDeadly Marker, as they both more or lessbuff you and allies and increase damageon their targets for their duration.
Mother Nature’s Protest
Every time a projectile skill is used, thisfires an additional projectile; with this weapon combo, you are pretty much always going to be using a projectile skill, so this is going to be aconsistent damage increase. Itcan be Specializedfor many effects, one of which is Gale.
Merciless Barrage
Thisfires arrows repeatedly at a target, benefiting tremendously from a critical hit increase, andcan also beSpecialized to apply Gale.
Weak Point Shot
A strong skill on its own, using thison a target Bound or ShackledbyEnsnaring Arrowcan make thismore potent, once it’s Specialized.
The Crossbow passive skills are a bit lighter on the must-haves, but there’s still some very good stuff in here. In particular, some of these combine with the Longbow passive skills perfectly.
Eagle Vision
This is asurefire hit chance increase, and thathit chance increases the further you are from your target, combining beautifully withSniper’s Sense.
Bloodlust
Increases your skill damagewhen you deal damage with a skill, andstacks up to 10 times, when it thenincreases critical damage. As a Damage Dealer, this is going to basicallyalways be active.
Detection
This has achance to increase your movement speed and evasion when you’re attacked; this shouldn’t happen too often in group content, but is nice as a solo, and very nice in PvP.
The Staff is capable of absurd damage; they don’t have a ton of specific interactions with the Longbow, but they both make for long range weapons capable of supporting themselves.
Serial Fire Bombs
This canset a target Burningon top of the damage that it does initially, causing adamage-over-time (DoT) effect. While it can be limiting to cast movement-wise, this impact can be lessened in Specialization.
Chain Lightning
Agreat damaging abilityon its own, this dealsincreased damage to Burning enemies. It has a short cooldown and tiny Mana cost, making it extremely effective.
Inner Peace
Increases Mana Regenconsiderably for a short time, helping you recover after a skill rotation.
Fireball Barrage
Launches abarrage of fireballsat your target, andincreases the amount of fireballs if your target is Burning.
Ice Spear

Improves cooldown and movement speed, allowing you to fully reset your rotations quicker. This can cause you to burn through your Mana, andbenefits greatly from usingInner Peacesomewhere in that rotation.
Judgment Lightning
Dealsoutrageous damage, and has a chance to be usedmultiple times when used on a Burning enemy.
Salvation Chain
Pulls a party member to you, which can be useful in getting them out of a lethal position. Can be specialized toeither move you to the party memberinstead, orgrant them a shield.
The Staff has some great passive skills that are going to improve your damage output, especially when used with abilities that inflict Burning. On top of that, it has some perfect combinations with Longbow passive skills.
Manaball Eruption
Grantsadditional projectile when using projectile abilities, more or less granting those abilities extra damage. WithFireball Barrage, it can end upunleashing an extraordinary amount of fireballs on a target that’s already Burning.
Asceticism
This is a goodMana regen increase, and that increase improves even more while you’re standing still, which combines very well withRapidfire Stance.
Mana Amp
AMana and health increase, and an easy inclusion if you’ve got the extra passive slot.
Flame Condensation
Increases the DoT of burning, which should be active fairly often.
