Loyal Friendsis a quest inDragon Age: The Veilguard’sArlathan Forest that involvesrescuing some Veil Jumperswho have not reported back for duty after exploring the Blight around the forest. The name refers to the trio involved in the quest, rather than them being friends of Bellara -despite the setting, Bellara is not particularly linked to this one, and thus is not required.

The quest itself is relatively straight forward - go to the locations, fight the darkspawn, discover the truth. You know how Dragon Age works. However, because of the Blight, getting around Arlathan Forest is extremely tricky, and thus you might behaving problems starting the quest rather than finishing.

Since you willfight Darkspawn,Taash or Davrin should come on this quest.

How To Start Loyal Friends

When you head to thequest marker for Loyal Friends, you willfind yourself trapped by unclimbable walls. Going up and around the back of the quest marker from the high ground willsee the entrance blocked by a hardened Blight Boilthat cannot be burst yet. So it looks like you’re stuck. More confusingly, the bridge directly opposite this Blight Boil has a magic puzzleat the far end - this isunrelated to the quest and can be ignored.

Instead, go tothe broken bridge overlooking the area. To get to it, go around the quest marker to the higher ground andthat Blight Boilblocking your way. Goright up the stairs and along the bridge. At the end of the bridge, there is aladder. Go down, and walkaround the ledge until you see a brick wall.Attack the barrelsnext to the wall, theyexplode, and you can nowenter the area where Loyal Friends begins.

Defeat Blighted Taymore

Unfortunately, this new area reveals that you are too late -Taymore has been Blighted. There isno way to avoid this, even if the quest is done immediately; it isscripted rather than timed. Taymore is aDarkspawn Emissary, which means she isVulnerable to Fire, as well as Resistant to Necrotic. She alsosummons a Hurlock, whoshares this Vulnerability and Resistance.

Like all Emissaries, Taymore is extremely annoying. She castsBlighted vines across the very cramped island, causing damage wherever you go.Attack from range earlyto destroy herBarrier, as the longer the fight goes on the tougher it will be to stand in place and aim.Abilities that can Burn her, trap her in place, or combo to Detonatewill stop her moving freely and making this battle harder than it needs to be.
