Summary
Almost 40 years on from his first game, Mario remains one of, if not the most recognizable character in the industry. So much so that he now has his own $1 billion animated movie to accompany his manyNintendo Switchgames. Switch games that rarely drop in price due to their popularity which is why you should jump on the chance to pick up two of Mario’s newest games for less.
Head to Woot right now and you’ll findSuper Mario Bros. WonderandSuper Mario RPGfor considerably less than you’d usually be expected to pay for them. Two Mario games that aren’t even a year old yet. By comparison,Mario Kart 8 DeluxeandSuper Mario Odyssey, a pair of Mario games that have existed for the Switch’s entire seven-year run, are still $60 each unless you’re lucky enough to find them on sale.
Mario Wonder has had its price cutfrom that same $60 price point down to $44.99, and Super Mario RPG, which usually costs $50,is on sale for just $31.99. Both bargains, but particularly the latter considering how much great game you’re getting for that price, and perfect as holiday gifts for someone who’s getting a Switch this Christmas, or just gifts for yourself if you held out on both games in the hope you might catch them while they’re on sale.
Mario Games On Switch Are Hardly Ever On Sale
Especially When They’ve Not Even Been Out For A Year
If you’re unfamiliar with Woot, its sales are a little different than ones you’ll find on other sites since everything on Woot is on sale. There’s no telling when those sales will end either as even though each sale has a definitive end time, at which point the stock will be pulled, its sales usually end when stock runs out. Mario Wonder, in particular, seems like a game that will sell out long before the clock on its page hits zero.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder
WHERE TO PLAY
Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a brand new 2D Mario game launching exclusively on Nintendo Switch. Reimagining the original Mario game format yet again, it will include a lot of firsts for the series such as Elephant Mario and a playable Princess Daisy.
Super Mario RPG
Super Mario RPG on Nintendo Switch is a remake of the game with the same name, originally released on the SNES in 1996. A completely reimagined version for an entirely new generation, it includes locations and characters even some of the most experienced Mario fans will have never seen before.
Nintendo’s push to make the Switch the best-selling console of all time continues this holiday season, and with news about the Switch 2 coming any day now, this might be the console’s last big opportunity to make that happen. Unfortunately, that push doesn’t include any innovative bundles, at least not in the US. The Switch and Switch OLEDhave been bundled with Mario Kart yet againin the US. However, other regions are gettingan OLED Switch bundled with Mario Wonder.
