Summary

In just a few weeks,Marvel’s Spider-Man 2will be celebrating its one-year anniversary since launching on thePS5. And while anniversaries of any kind are a joyous occasion, Spider-Man 2 fans have a whole range of emotions, most of them not positive.

Already,The Gamer reported how Spidey fans weren’t all too happy about the lack of DLC news or information about the leaked Venom standalone title during last week’s State of Play presentation. Those fanssaid they were “losing hope” for future Spider-Man content.

Flash forward to today, andfans are wondering just what happened to the DLC costumes from March that were supposed to be made free at a later date.

When Can Everyone Look Fly N' Fresh?

Originally revealed back in March,Insomniac Gamesdropped a two-suit packonto the PlayStation Store dubbed the “Fly N' Fresh” costume set. The two suits, one for Peter and Miles each, gave the Spideys a distinctive look, complete with neon purple pants and green accents.

The suits, which were designed in partnership with Gameheads, a non-profit dedicated to helping low-income people and people of color aspiring to be part of the video game industry, also came with extra Photo Mode stickers and frames. It retailed for $4.99, and PlayStation donated the profits to the group, with all players getting the pack for free at a later date.

That was March, and we’re a couple dozen hours from October, meaning it’s been a bit. “They said they would be available for free after some time has passed, and the deadline for the money going to charity is already over,“one user wrote. “Now if you buy it, your money will just go to Sony.”

Other users were far more pessimistic, with several saying that they don’t want the suits, but rather actual in-game content. “At this point, I consider this game ‘dead,'“a user said in response. “There’s no DLC, no new updates, no new costumes coming, so I won’t hold out hope and energy for it.”

Perhaps Insomniac will have news on the actual one-year anniversary (October 20),though given the massive data breach the studio experienced, it’s perfectly justified if there is none. Still, it is a tad bit worrying for what is one of Sony’s marquee franchises.
