Metaphor: ReFantaziomay only be a few days away, but the recent reviews for the title have made that wait feel like an age. It’s exciting to think that we’ll soon be able to play a new game from the developers of the modernPersonagames, but you might want to start locking down your socials if you’re a frequent scroller of the Persona/Metaphor community.
That’s because it seems as though physical copies of Metaphor: ReFantazio are making their way into the hands of players, meaning spoilers will soon be posted online, whether we want to see them or not. While the case itself wasn’t shared,a Reddit user called Asberinfishared a picture of a PS5 disc for Metaphor: ReFantazio, along with the caption “I’ll leave this here”.
Thankfully, they don’t appear to have shared any gameplay footage just yet, but it’s very unlikely that Asberinfi is the only person to have received their copy early. With the game being so close to launch, it’s also unlikely that Atlus will put the effort and resources into squashing any leaks that do happen, so it might be worth avoiding social media until you get your hands on it.
Metaphor: ReFantazio Is Being Played Four Days Before Launch
Metaphor: ReFantazio isn’t the only game this has happened to this year either. Big retailers can often accidentally send out games to players a little early, though a full week kind of takes the biscuit. PlayStation has been affected by this twice in 2024, withphysical copies of both Final Fantasy 7 RebirthandAstro Bot releasing a little early, while Silent Hill fans have also been able to getSilent Hill 2Remakea week before the game’s early access launch.
Thankfully, no harm has really come of it because all of those games are excellent,surprisingly so for Silent Hill 2, and Metaphor: ReFantazio looks to be no exception. Reviews for the title came out earlier today, giving ita very impressive score of 94 on OpenCriticin the opening stages, matching that of Persona 5. We also know thatMetaphor will share Persona 5’s length too, so now is the time to say goodbye to your friends and families as you work your way through this absolute unit of a video game.
