Summary

October is absolutely jam-packed with interesting and exciting titles, butone of the highlightshas to beMetaphor: ReFantazio, the next game by the team behindPersona 5that trades in high school life for a race for the crown in a fantasy world. Last week, developerAtlusreleased a demo to give us a taste of what’s to come, allowing us to play through the game’s opening.

For most of you, that will mean playing through the demo and beating it in around a few hours, and then marking your calendar and getting excited about the full release. Not every player is built the same though, as some people have been enjoying the game so much that they’ve barely put it down since it launched.

One such player is Twitter user Ceyarma(thanksGamesRadar), who was recently outed on the social media platform for having spent a whopping 48 hours in Metaphor: ReFantazio’s demo. In a follow-up tweet, Ceyarma exclaims that they’ll wear the play time “like a badge of honor”, going on to show off their Steam play time of 51.2 hours.

Metaphor: ReFantazio Players Are Spending Up To 60 Hours In The Demo

Ceyarma’s pride then tempted a few other dedicated fans to share their current demo play time, with Twitter users Kanataent and DarthVaderBader showing off their 28.8 hour and 15 hour play time respectively. However, there’s always that one person who has to show up everyone else, asTwitter user BoiChronoposted a screenshot of their play time, which was a total of 67.8 hours.

For context, that’s longer than the amount of time it takes to completePersona 3 Reload, and just shy of the amount of time it takes to beat Persona 4 Golden, according to HowLongToBeat. Being able to play a demo for the same amount of time it takes to beat a whole Persona game is some impressive dedication.

Interestingly, 67.8 hours is nowhere near the same amount of time it will take to beat Metaphor: ReFantazio completely though. Katsura Hashino, the game’s director, recently explained in an interview thatMetaphor Re:Fantazio will take about the same amount of time to beat as Persona 5, a game that has drained away roughly 100 hours of everyone who’s rolled credits. I guess we’ll be saying goodbye to our friends and loved ones next week.
