Summary
You hear Monster High and you likely think of the hugely popular line of dolls. The dolls are so popular that naturally their fame extends beyond their toy line alone. There’s a Monster High TV show, Monster High movies, and even Monster High video games. Starting today that includes Skulltimate Secrets, a brand new Monster High game that will be available on all major platforms by the time you read this.
The arrival of Skulltimate Secrets is significant for the present and hopefully the future of Monster High as it marks a return to traditional video games for the series. Traditional in the sense it’s being released on consoles and PC rather than the dolls' website, although it’s been even longer since the last web-based game starring Monster High dolls come to life was released.
Skulltimate Secrets is the first Monster High video game of any description for almost a decade, following on from 2015’s New Ghoul In School. Similar to that last installment nine years ago, Skulltimate Secrets begins with you attending your first day at Monster High. You’ll be doing more than just showing up to class and making friends before long though as it quickly becomes apparent that something’s not quite right with your new school.
Before you start your first day at Monster High and begin your quest to uncover its ancient door and save the school, you will need to create your character. A Monster High doll created in your own image, or whatever image you like if you have something else in mind. Other dolls in Monster High’s growing collection will be your classmates and help you search out the keys you’ll need to find the door, including Frankie Stein, Clawdeen Wolf, and Draculaura.
Monster High: Skulltimate Secrets Is Out Now
Your First Chance To Assume The Roll Of An MH Doll In A Game Since 2015
As fun as it would be if Skulltimate Secrets featured some of the crossover dolls to have graced Monster High’s collection over the years, the new game strictly stars Mattel’s Monster High collection. That means no cameo appearance fromMonster High’s latest crossover doll, Young-hee. Young-hee is the Red Light, Green Light doll from season one of Squid Game who watches to see which contestants are moving. Considering what happens if Young-hee does see you moving, it’s probably for the best that she isn’t a part of Skulltimate Secrets.
Monster High: Skulltimate Secrets isavailable now at Outright GamesonPS5,PS4,Xbox Series X|S,Xbox One,Nintendo Switch, and PC. Hopefully it will perform well enough that this kicks off a new era of Monster High games after a nine-year absence. Considering the popularity of Monster High’s dolls, if the game is good, there’s a strong chance it will sell well.
