If a game has a character creator feature, you can be sure that players will be crafting everything from popular characters to absolute monstrosities. There’s just something about using the limited tools you’ve been provided and creating a person from another video game, TV series, or movie.

However, we know that Monster Hunter players are built different.Monster Hunter Wildshas a very detailed and versatile character creator tool, and this is still just the beta. While we’ve seen all sorts of characters being created, it seems that some fans have created an absolute legend – Final Fantasy 14 director Naoki Yoshida, a.k.a. Yoshi-P!

Yoshi-P Can Slay

For reasons that can only be known to the creators, there are quite a few characters that look an awful lot like Yoshi-P. Perhaps it’s their way of showing their love for the director and his long-standing dedication to the Final Fantasy 14 community. Their love hasn’t gone unnoticed, however, as Yoshi-P reacted to these creations on the latest episode of Final Fantasy 14’sLetter from the Producer.

As spotted byGamesRadar, at the 2:25 mark, Yoshi-P started reading the comments on the live stream of the episode, when someone congratulated him for making it into Monster Hunter Wilds. He was a bit confused at first, before co-host and Square Enix producer Toshio Murouchi pointed out that it’s from the character creator.

The two were quite amused with the various versions of Yoshi-P, all of them looking very tired. He then jokingly apologised to the Monster Hunter devs that they had to deal with his face making it to the game, before going on to praise Monster Hunter Wilds' character creator feature.

The Monster Hunter Wilds beta has performed incredibly well, with players loving the detailed new world, new monsters, and of course, the character creator. However, it seems that thePC version of the beta isn’t doing too well. There have been multiple reports of bugs, performance issues, and graphical glitches, among other problems. With overhalf a million players queuingto join the open beta, a lot of them were left disappointed.

As for Yoshi-P, he has once again shown why fans love him so much. He recently revealed that Square Enix is working on a model to ensure thatall games by the publisher are available on all platforms at the same time. While only a few games will follow this initially, more Square Enix games will follow suit.
