Summary
Monster Hunter Wildshasan Open Beta Test currently ongoing, allowing players to get a feel for the game, create their characters, and see what horrible beasties are out there waiting for unsuspecting warriors to nibble on. Of course, this Open Beta Test doesn’t include the entire game, and there’s plenty of unannounced areas and monsters to be revealed, but dataminers appear to have beaten Capcom to the punch.
Earlier today, a massive text dump from the Monster Hunter Wilds open beta was shared online by dataminers, revealing what appears to be the IDs of several returning monsters that are currently unannounced.Explained by Reddit user Hte_D0ngening2on the GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit, the series has used the same IDs for monsters across the entire series, so dataminers have been able to figure out exactly which monsters that have spent a decent amount of time on the sidelines will be making a comeback.
If you want to go into Monster Hunter Wilds with as little information about the game as possible, now is your time to duck out.
A total of four unannounced returning monsters have been revealed by this datamine, three of which haven’t been seen since Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. These are the Gravios and Gypceros (monsters that have been in the series since the first game), as well as the Nerscylla, which were introduced to the series in Monster Hunter 4.
Monster Hunter Wilds Datamine Reveals Unannounced Monsters And Story Details
The final unannounced returning monster in Monster Hunter Wilds is the Gore Magala, which was introduced in Monster Hunter 4 too, but was very recently included in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, which launched in 2022. It’s worth noting that this is not an exhaustive list of every returning monster that hasn’t been announced yet, so if your favorite isn’t there, it still has a chance of popping up in the main game.
A lot more details about Monster Hunter Wilds also appear to have leaked in recent days, including certain story details, so you might want to remain vigilant while scrolling through social media if you’re determined to go in with as little info as possible. There’s also plenty of timebefore the game is released next February, so we should get a couple more trails and more details from Capcom in the coming months. Fingers crossed my boy Gammoth makes the cut.
