Summary
Nintendofiled a patent last month that many thought pointed to a key feature for the Switch 2. Something the tracked motion while idle that made some think the console would react when people walked past. Turns out it wasn’t a patent for the next Nintendo console at allbut for something called the Alarmo. Nintendo has officially revealed its newest accessory which isan alarm clock that plays music and sound effectsfrom some of theSwitch’s biggest games.
The Alarmo isalready available to buy from Nintendo’s store for $99.99. You will need to ensure the clock is facing you while you sleep as when its sensor will track your movements. If you’re not moving enough when its alarm goes off, the Alarmo will assume it isn’t doing its job well enough and gradually get louder. Stay in bed too long while the Alarmo is trying to get you up and ready for the day, and Bowser will pop up to scare you into starting your day.
That’s presumably if you’ve pickedSuper Mario Odysseyas the game you’d like to gently wake you in the morning. There are five games to choose from- Odyssey,Breath Of The Wild,Pikmin 4,Splatoon 3, andRing Fit Adventure. No mention of a sequel or even some DLC for Ring Fit despite how well it sold, but it’s included in a novelty motion-sensing alarm clock. Better than nothing, I guess.
Nintendo’s Alarmo Is Here To Make Sure You Wake Up On Time
Nothing Like Waking Up To The Gentle Chirps Of Multiple Pikmin
There will be sounds and music from more games added to the Alarmo in the future, but your clock will need to be connected to the internet andyou will need to have an active NSO subscription for the update to be applied. So far Nintendo has already confirmedMario Kart 8 DeluxeandAnimal Crossing: New Horizonswill be added to the options you can choose from. That also means sounds from those games that can be played to soothe you to sleep at night as well as wake you up the next morning.
Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo
Nintendo’s Alarmo is an alarm clock that tracks your movement while you sleep. you’re able to choose from five games from which the clock will play music and sound effects, with each game having seven scenes to choose from. The Alarmo’s alarm will get more intense if you don’t get out of bed, and then stop automatically once you do get up.
Each of the five games included comes with seven scenes, so a lot of options to choose from if you don’t like being woken up by the same thing every morning. The clock will also do things throughout the day depending on which game you’ve selected, such as an Inkling breaking open boxes with their gun at the top of each hour, the number of boxes they break indicating what time it is. The clock can also tell you how well you slept, so perhaps we’ll see some sort ofPokemon Sleepteam-up in the future.
