Summary

Persona 5: The Phantom Xis a fairly enticing prospect for fans of the modern Persona games. It has a bunch of interesting characters, and it looks just as stylish and well-made as the proper Persona games, but one of the least enticing things about it is that it’s a mobile game. There’s also the part where people outside specific countries can’t play it, but we know that’ll change eventually.

Thankfully, it looks as though Persona 5: The Phantom X’s long stint on mobile may be coming to an end fairly soon, if a new discovery on SteamDB is anything to go by, at least. First spotted byTwitter user Slimseo(thanks GamesRadar) it appears as though a new page titled “Persona 5: The Phantom X Playtest” isnow live on SteamDB, meaning developer Black Wings Game Studio is likely prepping it for a Steam release.

Persona 5: The Phantom X Looks Set To Launch On PC Soon

At the time of writing, the last update made to this page was 14 hours ago, after a branch titled “pwtest” was either added or updated. If we look at the game’s charts, we can see that this specific page was created on October 16, and that the playtest itself has been accessed on a number of occasions since then, although by only two or three people at a time. Still, its evidence that something is going on with The Phantom X on Steam.

We also don’t know whether the game’s launch on Steam will be international either. At the moment, the only countries you can actually play The Phantom X in are China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, and South Korea, but it has been confirmed by Atlus, Sega and game publisher Perfect Worldthat an international release is planned. We just still don’t know when.

It seems fairly unlikely that the game will be made available on PC anywhere when it’s still locked to Asia on mobile, so we’ll probably be waiting for the game’s international release for a little while still. It was also confirmed that the Phantom X is getting a console release too, so those of you wanting to play on Xbox and PlayStation will be able to as well. That’s even further out though, as it was stated that this will be worked on after the international release. Still, it looks as though things are heading in the right direction.
