Summary

Remember the stress you endured waiting in queues to hopefully snag something inPlayStation’s 30th anniversary collection? Good news, it’s time to do it all over again. Pre-orders for items in the collection go live at retailers outside of PlayStation Direct for the first time today at 10 am EST. Well, they were supposed to go live at 10 am EST, but Target appears to have jumped the gun.

While the likes of Amazon and Best Buy are abiding by the rules and waiting to race off the start line at the pre-determined time, pre-orders for one of the items in the anniversary collection have gone up early at Target. Not even a little bit early, but six hours early.Pre-orders for the digital-only anniversary PS5 are available right now at Target, and if you’ve seen this in time - either before they’ve sold out or before Target gets told off and has to take the listing down - you can get one through the link in the box below.

Handy if you have seen this and the anniversary console was all you wanted as that means you don’t need to open up a bunch of tabs at 10 am and join the chaos. The digital anniversary console is exactly the same as the digital model of the slimmerPS5but with a grey makeover as a tribute to PlayStation’s original console. The PS logo on the console has got its colors back, as has the logo on the DualSense that comes with it and the sacred symbols on the face buttons.

Pre-Orders Have Gone Live Early At Target

I Wouldn’t Normally Condone Cutting In Line, But It’s Right There

The console appears to be the only item that has gone live at Target too early so if you’re only on the hunt for a DualSense controller or you’re hoping to land the white whale that is the 30th anniversary PS5 Pro bundle, you will need to come back later. The $1,000 bundle has been the hardest item to get hold of since pre-orders first went live because only 12,300 of them have been made. It’s unclear how many of them were sold during the first wave of pre-orders, and how many are left for today’s festivities.

PS5 Digital 30th Anniversary Bundle

PlayStation’s 30th anniversary digital PS5 is the same shade of grey as the PS1 to celebrate 30 years since the original console’s launch. It comes with a matching DualSense, and the logo and buttons on it have their original PS colors back.

Everything in the anniversary collectionwill ship on August 01, 2025, a little more than four years after the launch of the original PS5.Pre-orders for the PS5 Pro also open at other retailers today, but the rush for those is unlikely to compare to the one for the anniversary collection. Two weeks later, the PS5 Pro is still in stock at PlayStation Direct. Maybe the $700 console becoming more widely available will help it sell. We shall see.
