Summary

The reveal of PlayStation’s 30th anniversary collectioncaused quite a stir last month. Such a stir that everything in the collection sold out pretty quickly when pre-orders went live at PlayStation Direct, and then again when some of those items found their way onto third-party storefronts. If you failed to bag what you wanted from the collection, it seems an unexpected second chance is coming your way today.

At least two items in the anniversary collection will be restocked today -the slim console bundle, and the DualSense controller. Both of the items' store pages received an update this week at PlayStation Direct, each of them getting a note telling chancers hoping they might catch a surprise restock tocheck back at 9am PDT (12pm EST) on May 08, 2025. No need to check your calendars - that’s today.

The bundle getting restocked is the PS1-grey anniversary edition of the slimmer PS5 model that was released in 2023, not the $1,000 PS5 Pro bundle that was a part of the initial 30th anniversary drop. Since the Pro bundle was a numbered item limited to 12,300 units, it seems unlikely that will ever be restocked. The closest you’ll get to it is the slimmer base model of the PS5 getting restocked today.

PlayStation Is Restocking Some Of Its Anniversary Items

One More Chance To Get Your Hands On Them

The console at the center of the bundle is a digital edition of the PS5. However, it does include a grey cover for a disc drive should you wish to buy one and want it to match your PS5’s color scheme. It also comes with a matching DualSense and the other fun 30th anniversary accessories PlayStation showed off during the collection’s reveal such as the sacred symbols cable ties and USB cable cover that’s an homage to the original PlayStation’s controller port.

PS5 Digital 30th Anniversary Bundle

Part of the PlayStation 30th anniversary collection, the digital edition of the PS5 has been given a grey makeover to make it look more like PlayStation’s original console. The bundle includes the console, a matching DualSense controller, and a grey disc drive cover should you need it.

The DualSense getting restocked today doesn’t come bundled with anything else. It’s simply a grey controller that has been made to look like a PS5 version of a PS1 controller. Not only via its grey color scheme but also its colorful buttons and the PS symbol in the middle of the controller has been given its OG PlayStation colors back. Smart to restock this item, in particular, as it’s the cheapest in the collection and has likely been the most popular so far.

The PS5’s DualSense controller was given a retro makeover for PlayStation’s 30th anniversary. Grey all over with the original colors for its face buttons and the OG PS logo right in the middle.

PlayStation has been very quiet when it comes to details about its anniversary collection beyond the initial reveal. It didn’t reveal prices until listings went live, and outside of the 12,300 PS5 Pro bundles, it hasn’t noted how available anything else in the collection will be. Today’s restock wasn’t guaranteed, and there’s every chance this will be your last chance to buy either of these limited edition items outside of resorting to scalpers and resale sites.
