Summary
Nianticdebuted Dynamaxing inPokemon Goa little more than a month ago, and as expected, the long-awaited arrival of Gigantamax Pokemon isn’t far behind. It has now been confirmed that the debut of the Galar region mechanic will take place on July 27, 2025, and the firstPokemonyou will be able to Gigantamax have already been revealed.
It was only a matter of time until Gigantamaxing joined Dynamaxing In Pokemon Go since the two mechanics go hand-in-hand and were both introduced to the Pokemon world inSword & Shield. Go players have spent the last month getting to grips with Dynamax Pokemon which are basically just massive versions of regular Pokemon and hence quite a bit more powerful than they are when normal-sized.
Gigantamax Pokemon are a little different. Not only do they grow in size, but their appearance changes too. They’re also able to perform G-Max movies in Sword & Shield, but it’s unclear if that will be the case in Pokemon Go, although it seems likely. Niantic has confirmed the first three Gigantamax Pokemon coming to Pokemon Go will be Venasaur, Charizard, and Blastoise, and the fully evolved Kanto trio will be joining the mobile game in less than two weeks on October 26.
Gigantamax Venasaur, Charizard, And Blastoise Are Coming To Pokemon Go
Niantic has warned that Gigantamax Pokemon will be even harder to take down than Dynamax ones, as they should be, and advises battling them with the help of fellow trainers. The Pokemon will appear during limited-time events, and battling them will likely be similar to the process of battling Dynamax Pokemon, which in turn is somewhat similar to the raid battle mechanic that has been a part of Pokemon Go for years.
Even though Venasaur, Charizard, and Blastoise are the only Gigantamax Pokemon confirmed to be coming to Pokemon Go, Niantic has noted that the rollout of the mechanic will start with these three Pokemon, so there will be more to come. Only 32 Pokemon are capable of Gigantamaxing at present, so despite the mechanic coming just six weeks after Dynamax Pokemon were added to the game, I can’t imagine Niantic will be in too much of a rush to add new ones.
The reveal that Gigantamax Pokemon in Pokemon Go will be a welcome distraction to just about anyone connected to The Pokemon Company right now.A huge Game Freak leak took place over the weekend, revealing details aboutPokemon Legends: Z-A’s original release datetospoilers for Pokemon Horizons. There’s even somestuff in there about Pokemon and humans having kids togetherthat’s so much weirder than whatever you’re thinking after reading that sentence.
