Summary
Every time you settle on the type ofPokemonplush that’s for you, The Pokemon Company goes ahead and creates a whole new type. There are sleeping plushes,Squishmallows, Comfy Friends, and more, and now you can add clip-on plushes to that list. Smaller soft toys that have a clip on them so they can easily be attached to a jacket or backpack, and the collection has been kicked off by every single partner Pokemon being added to it.
Before you get cute in the comments and start asking where all the partner Pokemon from Mystery Dungeon are, the collection only includes starters from the main series. There’s a worrying lack of Eevee though, I’ll give you that.
That’s all three partner Pokemon from each of the series' nine regions, plus Pikachu, of course, and Mew has been thrown in their for good measure. I’m not sure why Mew is included, but as someone with a four-year-old who has grown quite fond of the mythical Pokemon, I’m certainly not complaining. It might be a while before they get their own clip-on Mew plush, however, since, as usual, this particular collection will be exclusive to Japan for now.
The first look at the collection of 29 plushes has beenprovided by PokeJungleand even though they’re not available at the US Pokemon Center yet, there is a way to buy them if you absolutely must have one right now.Meccha Japan, a site that specializes in shipping Japan-exclusive merch worldwide, has opened pre-orders for the clip-on plushes. They’re roughly $14 each, but the cost of shipping them from Japan adds at least another $7 to your total.

If you can wait, there’s a strong chance this range eventually finds its way out of Japan and to other Pokemon Centers around the world. I’m not entirely sure how the Pokemon plush machine works, but there aren’t many plushes that don’t sell well enough that they never leave Japan. Just recently,the Kalos batch of Pokemon’s Sitting Cuties range found its way to the US. The collection is the only one that turns every single Pokemon into a plush.
When I say every single Pokemon will eventually have a Sitting Cutie, I mean it. The Kalos rollout includes all 18 Vivillon designs.
Other than Pokemon TCG Pocket which will be here on July 09, 2025, we’re currently in the middle of a quiet period for Pokemon video games.Pokemon Legends: Z-Awill change that in 2025 but until then, plushes can fill the gap.Target has a new range of sleeping plushes,Porygon has joined Pokemon’s life-size range, and while I certainly can’t make any guarantees, it feels like we’re due another Squishmallow announcement ahead of the holidays.
