Summary
Mega Evolution not only provides Pokemon with a beautiful transformation, but also a massive power boost.Mega-evolved Pokemon can turn the tide in battle, dealing increased damage and supporting their allies in Raids. WhilePokemon Gofeatures an impressive lineup of Pokemon capable of Mega Evolving, there are some notable exclusions.
Several Pokemon stand out as prime candidates for Mega Evolution, either due to their importance in the broader Pokemon lore, their consistent presence in competitive teams, or simply because they are beloved fan-favorites. Unlocking these Pokemons' ability to Mega Evolve would not only solidify their power but also give trainers more strategic options in battle.
11Flygon
Flygon has long held a special place in players' hearts. Despite its respectable stats, boasting an Attack of 205 and 168 Defense,Flygon often finds itself overshadowedby other stronger Ground- and Dragon-types, especially in more competitive scenarios like Raids and PvP. Even when considering Shadow Flygon buffs, it struggles to stand out against titans like Dragonite or Groudon.
However, a Mega Evolution would not only give Flygon an awesome new design but also elevate its competitive potential, allowing it to finally secure a well-deserved place among the top-tier Pokemon.
10Kingdra
Kingdra boasts an elegant design and decent stats, making it a popular Pokemon since its introduction in the Johto region. Currently, its best role is a gym challenger, where its versatility and solid move-set allow it to function as a reliable, though not dominant, Water-type attacker. Despite being a strong addition to the Johto Pokedex, Kingdra has become overshadowed by more powerful Pokemon as the series has expanded.
Kingdra’s design is inspired by Weedy Sea Dragons.
A Mega Evolution would not only look incredible but would also offer a much-needed stat boost. Kingdra could become much more valuable in Raids and Gym challenges, standing alongside other heavy-hitters like Gyarados and Salamence. With its unique typing, Kingdra’s Mega Evolution could transform it into a powerful tank, capable of filling either a Water- or Dragon-type role with ease, bringing newfound popularity and strategic value.
9Crobat
Crobat is often an overlooked Pokemon, with middling stats and a decent but not exceptional move pool. In the mainline games, Crobat’s greatest asset is its impressive speed, which allows it to get the jump on its opponents. Unfortunately, this defining feature hasn’t translated well into Pokemon Go, leaving Crobat underutilized despite its potential.
Since Crobat debuted in Pokemon Go before the Buddy System, it does not evolve based on friendship like the main-line games, and instead requires 100 candies.
A Mega Evolution would give Crobat the recognition it deserves, offering a much-needed stat boost that could elevate its Attack and Defense, particularly in Raids. Its dual Poison and Flying typing provides resistance to six different types (Bug, Fighting, Grass, Fairy, Poison, and Ground), making Crobat a valuable tank.
8Skarmory
Skarmory is a visually striking Pokemon, with its sleek, steel-plated design giving the impression of power and resilience. However, its base stats don’t quite live up to its imposing appearance, particularly since it lacks an evolutionary family to bolster its standing. Trainers may place Skarmory in gyms more for its aesthetic appeal than for its ability to defend effectively for extended periods.
Skarmory was originally introduced as Yoroidori in the Pokemon Gold and Silver Spaceworld ‘97 demo, which was an early build of the game presented at the Nintendo Space World in 1997.
A Mega Evolution would bring Skarmory’s appearance in line with its combat potential, significantly boosting its abilities. Steel-type Pokemon are already known for their elevated Defense, and a Mega Skarmory would become an impenetrable fortress, capable of dishing out solid damage while taking hits.
7Excadrill
Excadrill is already a powerhouse, recognized as one of the top-tier Ground- and Steel-type attackers, especially in Raids. Its effectiveness is further amplified in PvP, where it performs well across all Battle League categories. Excadrill’s versatility shines even more with its Shadow version, which benefits from increased Attack stats, making it a formidable choice for many challenges. Given Excadrill’s strong showing, there’s no reason that it should not have a Mega Evolution.
Mega Excadrill would solidify its role as a valuable partner in Raids and an asset when taking on Team Rocket Leaders. The boost in stats, paired with Excadrill’s new sleek and powerful design, would enhance both its battle prowess and its popularity among players, ensuring it remains a fan-favorite for both competitive play and collection.
6Blissey
Blissey is an adorable and fan-favorite Pokemon, often seen defending Gyms due to its incredible bulk. With a massive Stamina stat of 496 and a solid Defense of 169, Blissey is a true damage sponge, which makes it invaluable in defending Gyms, where durability is key.
A Mega Evolution for Blissey would offer a much-needed balance to its stats, elevating its Attack to better complement its already impressive Stamina. This boost would allow Blissey to transition from being solely a Gym defender to a more versatile Pokemon that can contribute to other aspects of Pokemon Go battles. Given Blissey’s role as a caring and nurturing Pokemon, a Mega Evolution would be a fitting tribute to its significance in the Pokemon world, allowing it to shine even brighter across various challenges.
5Conkeldurr
Conkeldurr is a strong Fighting-type Pokemon, known for its powerful attack and versatility. Shadow Conkeldurr ranks fourth among all Fighting-type attackers, making it a top-tier choice for players. Although Conkeldurr’s defense is subpar, its powerful attack combination of Counter and Dynamic Punch ensures it remains a valuable asset acrossall levels of the Battle League.
A Mega Evolution would elevate Conkeldurr’s versatility, allowing it to shine in Raids as well as PvP battles. Mega Conkeldurr would level the playing field with its Shadow version, positioning it among elite Fighting-types like Terrakion and Mega Lucario.
4Mamoswine
Mamoswine is already a powerhouse, known for its versatility and dominance in a variety of roles. Its Ground and Ice typing makes it highly effective against a wide range of opponents, allowing it to perform well in Raids, Gym battles, and against Team Rocket Leaders. Whether as a Ground-type powerhouse or Ice-type counter, Mamoswine consistently proves its worth across many challenges.
A Mega Evolution would take Mamoswine to the next level, enhancing its already impressive stats and solidifying its place as a staple in any player’s lineup. With its current status as a top-tier Pokemon, a Mega Mamoswine would be an unstoppable force, offering additional power and flexibility that would make it an even more frequent sight in battles and Raids.
3Nihilego
Nihilego, the Ultra Beast with its unique Rock/Poison typing, is already a formidable presence in the Pokemon universe. As a creature hailing from another dimension, it possesses the same characteristics and restrictions as Legendary Pokemon, making it a valuable asset in both Raids and Gym Battles. Its high offensive abilities and versatile move-set allow it to shine in various challenges.
In recent years, we’ve seen an exciting trend of Legendary Pokemon receiving Mega Evolutions, enhancing their abilities and strategic options in battle. Given this trend, Nihilego is well-deserved for its own enhanced evolution. A Mega or Primal form could amplify its already high attack stats and offer new moves, making it even more versatile and deadly against opponents.
2Rhyperior
Rhyperior is already a formidable force in Raids, Gyms, and PvP battles. As a Ground- and Rock-type attacker, Rhyperior consistently ranks in A and S Tiers across various roles, making it one of the top choices for Raid Attacker, Ground-type, Rock-type, and Gym Defender categories. Its bulky stats, combined with access to powerful moves like Smack Down and Rock Wrecker, make it a reliable partner in any situation.
A Mega Evolution for Rhyperior would elevate it to new heights, making it one of the strongest Ground- and Rock-type attackers in the game. The stat boosts from Mega Evolution would make it an unstoppable force, allowing it to easily go toe-to-toe in Legendary raids.
