Summary

PokemondeveloperGame Freakhas suffered one of the most catastrophic data leaks in recent memory over the weekend, almost as bad as the onethat hit Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank developer Insomniac Gamesback in December last year. Just like Insomniac, detailed plans about Game Freak’s in-development titles poured onto social media, including details on Generation 10,Pokemon Legends Z-A, and a project codenamed Synapse.

However, very unlike Insomniac, a lot of much stranger information started making its way onto social media - stuff that explainedthe origins of Pokemon as a wholeand other wild concepts. A few stories allegedly written by employees at Game Freak have been of particular interest to fans of the series, which arein-depth tales of humans and Pokemon having children together, both consensually and forcefully.

These stories make for some pretty bizarre reading, though one story about a Typhlosion is arguably one of the worst ones of the bunch. It was first shared byTwitter user GireumNewTown, and tells the tale of a girl who gets lost in the woods while collecting firewood. With night approaching, the girl meets a Typhlosion and stays in its cave until morning, though the Typhlosion eventually forces her to stay, removes her memories of her family and friends, and then has a child with her.

It’s extremely criminal behavior, made worse by the fact that the story never explicitly states how old this girl is, though it’s suspect she’s not referred to as a woman. It’s also behavior that you wouldn’t expect from a Pokemon as beloved as Typhlosion, what with the creature being the final evolution of one of the most popular starters in the entire series, and a lot of fans are now having to come to terms with the fact that this story has ruined their favorite Pokemon.

Pokemon Leaks Have Completely Ruined Typhlosion For Fans

Typhlosion fans are just about getting through this crisis by posting through it, showcasing their distress over how their boy has betrayed them.Twitter user That_One_Ahmedsums up how it feels to be a Typhlosion fan at the moment quite nicely, sharing a picture of a tortured Dragon Ball character. Others are slowly coming to terms thatTyphlosion is getting the Vaporeon treatment, and if you don’t know what that means, then bless your innocent heart.

Then you have the Typhlosion fans who are pretending that none of this happened, sticking up for their sweet boy in the face of these folklore stories. To be fair,as Twitter user Lutraviolet points out, alongside some very lovely art of Hisuian Typhlosion, this story isn’t event canon, though it will always be in the back of the minds of Typhlosion fans using them in battle. I guess I’ll be picking Totodile from now on.
