Pokemon’s Ultra Premium Collections have become one of the most exciting products in theTrading Card Game’scalendar.
Usually released once a year, these products contain a bumper number of packs andusuallysome stunning promo cards. This year, however, The Pokemon Company has confirmed that it will release two UPCs: a Greninja one (which is really bad) and a Terapagos one, which seemed an odd choice but had potential. That was until thepromos were revealed.
The three promos in the box have been deemed so bad that fans are already sharing that they’ll be skipping the product.

“The Worst Promos We’ve Seen In Ages”
This year’s promos feature a gold ex card of Cinderace and Lapras and a standard ex card of Terapagos, all on boring, plain backgrounds, a far cry from the original Ultra Premium Collections.
The first three UPCs featured some stunning promos. In 2021,The Pokemon Companyreleased theCelebrations Ultra Premium Collection, which celebrated the 25th anniversary of Pokemon and included metal cards of Charizard and Pikachu from the TCG’s Base Set. The following year, the company released theCharizard UPC, which contained three incredible alternate art Charizards. Then, last year came the release of the 151 Ultra Premium Collection, featuring illustration rare cards of Mew and Mewtwo.
All three previous products contained cards with unique artwork and high collectible value. The same can’t be said for this year’s product, with all three cards unoriginal and looking like dozens of other cards that have been released this generation. This has, of course, upset the Pokemon community.
Droves of collectors have taken tosocial mediato declare their lack of interest in this year’s Ultra Premium Collection.
One Reddit user called the cards the “worst promos” in ages, and another called them “just ugly,” a sentiment echoed by many. The product was seen as so undesirable that multiple collectors have admitted they’re not going to buy it, calling it the “easiest pass in a long time,”
It’ssurprising that The Pokemon Company hasn’t gone all out with this set, given thatmany store owners have struggled to sell productover the last year. However,withTeam Rocket cards on the horizon, there’s always next year.
Pokemon TCG Greninja ex Premium Collection
The Pokemon TCG’s Premium Collection focus on a single Pokemon, and the star of this one is Greninja. Included is an etched foil promo ad etched metal Greninja cards and everything else you need to play the TCG, including 16 booster packs.
