Summary
Being active in thePokemon Trading Card Gamecommunity, you meet all kinds of collectors. There are loads, like myself, who like to master every set they start, there are some who only collect the cards they like, and others who specifically collect foreign language cards—namely Japanese.
While at first glance, it seemsPokemon Trading Card Game Pocketonly caters to the first two, there is a way in which players can collect cards in different languages and fulfill a different collecting mission.
You Can Collect Foreign Language Cards In Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket
This was something I encountered in the game by chance. After battling loads of Japanese players inTCG Pocket’s Versus Mode, I started receiving a ton of friend requests, and I accepted them. AnyWonder PickI did with those friends thereafter offered me cards in the language that they had their game set to and, therefore, collected their cards in.
Incidentally, if you’re looking to strictly collect in a different language, changing the game’s settings to your language of choice will mean you can open packs that bless you with cards in that language. The Japanese Gyarados in the header image for this article is one I pulled when testing this method.
With only two ways to do it, it’s going to be a slow, costly feat to collect lots of Japanese cards, but it certainly opens the door for those who want to complete different collection goals.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like there’s an easy way to sort these cards currently. you’re able to view the foreign language cards you know by selecting it in ‘My Cards’ and changing the language at the top. However, there is no ‘sort by language’ option. Of course, you cancreate a binderwith all of these cards, but even then, the process is a little wonky.
