Summary

Everyone pretend to be shocked, as The Powerpuff Girls and Nubia have been confirmed as new fighters forMultiVersusSeason 3, which kicks off on September 17,

It doesn’t feel like all that long ago since Player First Games announced thatMultiVersus Season 2 would be introducing Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice, but we’ve already got an announcement for the game’s third season. Funnily enough, this is the first Season 3 that MultiVersus has ever had,as it originally only made it to two before being taken offline.

Over the past few weeks, the official MultiVersus account has been making some very obvious teases for who it was going to be adding to the game next, including outright silhouettes of who it was in a recent teaser. Now,it’s officially confirmed the new characters in a trailer that reveals most of what’s being added in Season 3.

The Powerpuff Girls And Nubia Are Coming To MultiVersus

The first character (or characters, rather) to join MultiVersus on September 17 is the Powerpuff Girls, who won’t come as a surprise to anyone. The Powerpuff Girls were actually teased all the way back in Season 1 on the Batcomputer, but they’ve now been officially confirmed to be coming next week.

As expected, the trio fight together as one team and seem to have unique moves that sends out just one of them at a time. It’s sort of like the Ice Climbers in Smash Bros., but with one extra fighter attached. They also have a lot of unique interactions with the rest of the roster, which is a nice touch that shows how long they’ve been in development. They’ll be included as part of the Season 3 battle pass.

Especially interesting is the fact that they’re based on their original designs instead of the reboot. They also seem to be voiced by their original actors.

The second character confirmed to be coming to MultiVersus in Season 3 is Nubia, Queen of the Amazons. Nubia was also leaked some time ago, but it was assumed that she’d be a variant of Wonder Woman. That’s not the case anymore, however, as she’s been turned into her own character with some unique moves.

We don’t currently know when Nubia will join the game, but it has been confirmed to happen at some point during Season 3. With Beetlejuice, it took a few weeks after the launch of Season 2, so expect it to be the same case here.
