Summary

Dead Rising Deluxe Remasterwill challenge your ability to escort survivors through hoards of zombies, test your strength against psychopaths, and conquer even the toughest challenges in the game. The most unique challenge, though, is the time limit that forces you to think about which missions to tackle first and which you can hold off till later.

Of course, there are some tricks that only pro players know you can do and some that are even more prominent now in the new remaster. From finding PP stickers easily to not walking right past the best weapon in the game, here are things only pro players know you can do in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.

10The Early-Game Shotgun

An Essential Weapon For An Easy First Day

The zombies have gotten into the mall and are starting to eat the survivors stuck in the entrance plaza. As the undead swarm you, Brad tells you to get upstairs as fast as possible. While your instincts might tell you to run, pro players have a different idea in mind.

There is a shotgun that is dropped by the survivor, Brian, as soon as the zombies eat him. So just wait a few extra seconds to get a hold of it. This is a strong early-game weapon that can help you in both the Cletus boss fight at the gun store, or against Carlito if you do his encounter first.

9Get That Easy PP Sticker

Hunting For More PP

Becoming a top-tier photographer means knowing when and where to get your next shot. This is slightly more difficult in the original game, since you have to see the tiny PP sticker on a structure to know it’s worth something.

However, did you know that you can now detect PP stickers easily due to the color change of the icon? Now, PP stickers are yellow instead of white which makes them more noticeable when you’re slaying zombies around the mall. So line up your shot and get ready to make art.

8A Secret OP Weapon

Don’t Walk Past The Most OP Weapon

The best melee weapon in the game is not the katana or the mini-chainsaw. In fact, the best weapon in the game is one that you’re constantly walking past on your way from the security room towards Paradise Plaza. This is the mannequin torso.

Most players will ignore the weak-looking mannequins, but pros know better. By tossing or hitting the mannequin, you’re able to break it down into smaller pieces. Once you do this, simply grab the torso piece, and you have yourself one of the strongest weapons in the game.

7Interact With Mall Equipment

More Ways To Get PP

If you want a better chance at surviving the zombie apocalypse, you’re going to want to get tougher. There are multiple ways to gain PP and many of these methods involve interacting with the mall equipment.

Place a frying pan on a stove, and eventually, it will burn brightly while giving you a PP boost. Other ways to gain this boost include running on treadmills, shooting decorative plates, and taking a ride on the Wonderland Plaza rollercoaster. All these interactions culminate in massive PP gains.

6Use The Heavy Machine Gun To Destroy The Helicopter

On Tough Achievement

One of the toughest challenges in the game is taking down the helicopter that patrols Leisure Park. This helicopter only appears after the military rolls in on day three if you’ve completed all the story scoops till then. However, pros know you can take it down easily.

If you defeat the convicts, you can take the heavy machine gun from their humvee. If you manage to keep it around till the helicopter shows up, you can easily blast away at the pilot instead of taking potshots with the sniper. Now, you also have the choice do to this using a rocket launcher.

5Get The Underground Key Early

Faster Travel For Frank

If you’re looking to have an easier time tackling scoops or even getting around the mall more easily, then pros know how to navigate the underground. While this area won’t become prominent till Carlito’s bomb run, you can still get the key as soon as you start a new save.

This key will make it easy to complete tasks such asthe Zombie Genocider achievementand will allow you to travel through the mall instead of the underground when collecting Carlito’s bombs. So get the key early rather than later.

4Use Drinks Strategically

The Power Of Juice

Mixed juices aren’t the most in-your-face mechanic in Dead Rising, butmastering the art of mixologywill help you immensely. Dead Rising veterans know that Fleetfoot is good for getting to scoops in a time crunch.

Zombait and Nectar are great for escorting survivors, since they either distract the hoards or spawn in a zombie-clearing Queen you can throw. If you’re looking to fight psychopaths, take an energizer when you want to dish out damage without taking damage from a hit. So don’t just heal like a noob, mix like a pro.

3You Can Speed Up Time In Infinity Mode

Challenges Made Easier

If you want to be a pro in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, you should know that speeding up time is not just a feature for the regular 72-hour Mode. You can also do this in Infinity Mode, which comes as a surprise for unsuspecting players.

However, be careful while doing this. Pros know that health is still ticking down even when you fast-forward. So only do it when you have enough food items to hold you over and don’t miss out on survivors or Psychopaths.

2Use Infinite Ammo And Durability In Infinity Mode

Don’t Start Infinity Mode Before Doing This

While you may be down to hit Infinity Mode as soon as you hit level 50, you may want to hold off a bit before doing that. You should go for the Savior achievement first, which will require you to save 50 survivors from the mall.

Doing this rewards you with a book that will not only give you infinite weapon durability, but also infinite ammo as well. One thing you might not know is that this book is also available in Infinity Mode if you have it unlocked. It will help you clear the challenge easier by making your best weapons more reliable.

1Conserve Foods And Cook Them

Find The Cookable Foods

One gameplay mechanic that often flies over players' heads even those who played the original game, is that you can cook food. All those frozen vegetables, pizzas, and meats you can find in Seon’s can be placed in a microwave to cook them. Doing this will give you more health when you eat them.

In addition, you may also let meats rot and vegetables thaw. You will need to do this if you want the achievement of eating every food item available in the mall. Cooking food is also a way pros have an easier time making their health last longer in Infinity Mode.
