7Interact With Everything

Secrets Are In The Most Obscure Locations

One of the reasons why Astro Bot is such a joy to play through is just how much detail has been crammed into every corner of the worlds and levels you work through. In the Crash Site hub area, every missing bot will haveunique animations if you interact with them, and you’ll get another one when you unlock their matching item from the gacha.

But when it comes to unlocking collectibles, then you can carry this same philosophy to the levels you play through. Some secrets are hidden in plain sight, and all you need to do is hit something random to activate it. Whether its coins hidden in trees, or random hiding places for missing bots, it’s always worth interacting with anything that looks even vaguely interesting.

6Spin Attack Invulnerability

Makes Late-Game Combat A Breeze

Combat is by no means the most complex aspect of Astro Bot, but there are moments in the game where this mechanic can get a little frustrating. While the bosses are a challenge, they’re rarely too complex, but some larger hordes of enemies can catch Astro off guard with speedy projectiles or random moments of immunity.

The best way to counter enemies that can take out Astro wiht just one pesky projectile is to spin attack, since with most shooting enemies, this will give Astro immunity. In some challenge levels, this knowledge can be the difference between a successful run with just how unavoidable these enemies can be.

5Remember Where Photo Cutouts Are

The Safari Pays

If you’re being thorough as you play through each of theintricately designed levelsin Astro Bot, then something you might have noticed are photo cutouts. These adorable additions are hidden in random spots, some more obvious than others, and you get unique animations for each.

It is recommended to screenshot each of these for later reference, especially before you unlock the camera at the safari (unlocked using puzzle pieces), since if you interact with these after unlocking the camera, you get a healthy coin bonus, so they’re worth revisiting after getting this mid-game unlock.

4Pay Attention To Rumble

Train Your Sixth Sense

Being one of the few games fully designed with the PlayStation 5 in mind, the game takes full advantage of the console’s unique controller, the DualSense. One of the most common ways this manifests is in the rumble being used in unconventional ways.

For example, the rumble is often subtly used to foreshadow big attacks when facing bosses, or even to hint at secrets when you are working through different areas. Sometimes these hints are easier to pick up than others, but once you’re attuned to it, you’ll be able to pick up on it later to have a subconscious awareness of when the game is trying to hint at something.

3Use Power-Ups To Speed Through Return Runs

Experiment To Save Time

If you’ve reached the credits of Astro Bot, you’ve likely decided that you want to return to previous levels to pick up any collectibles that you’ve missed, and while this could feel like a slog since you have to start every level from the beginning, it’s a perfect chance to try speeding through levels.

Of course, try not to miss whatever you’ve returned to a level to retrieve, but using power ups can make skipping certain sections of levels a breeze if you aren’t worried about exploring. A great example of this is seeing how you can exploit areas of Downsize Surprise by creatively using the shrink ability.

2Easter Eggs Are On The Crash Site Map

Take Advantage Of Astro Bot’s One Map

One of the more obscure collectibles in Astro Bot are the extra bots that are found in egg capsules throughout the Crash Site, and while they don’t unlock anything extra, they are a fun bonus collectible to have as decoration for the Crash Site.

While there is no clear method for unlocking these, you can track which interactive areas in the Crash Site you have enough bots to activate by looking at the map. This clearly shows where the areas you haven’t interacted with yet are, and is a useful tool for keeping track of which egg capsules you haven’t got.

1The Final Challenge Requires All Bots And Puzzle Pieces

100 Percent For 101 Percent

If you are looking to play every single piece of content that is in Astro Bot, then you’ll need to not only get every hidden bot, but also every puzzle piece. To get every bot, you’ll need to find every Lost Galaxy Level through the warp holes in standard levels, and then after completing those, you’ll need to complete the bonus level you’ll unlock.

After you’ve scoured these levels for every single puzzle piece and stranded bot, you’ll finally be able to take on the game’s final challenge, and unlike the credits level or the Final Encore, this level doesn’t hold back, so be prepared for a challenge.
