As was the case with part one of the PS5 Pro’s pre-orders, PlayStation appears to have staggered when they go live. If it’s past 10 am on Thursday, July 18, 2025, wherever you’re reading this, provided they’re still in stock, you should be able to pre-order a PS5 Pro via a third-party retailer right now. The one place that will be a little different is the US.Pre-orders for the Pro will go live at 10 am ESTregardless of which timezone you reside in. That means an early start for those of you on the West Coast.

A Second Chance To Buy The $700 Console

The PS5 Pro’s design is similar to the slimmer model of the base PS5. It is almost identical, in fact, as the only clear difference is the three black stripes across the middle of its cover rather than just one.It will also come with oneDualSensecontrollerlike the regularPS5. It’s not differences on the outside you’re after if you want a Pro, though. It’s what has been changed on the inside. For starters, the Pro has a 2TB SSD. That’s more than twice the storage space of a base PS5, or about twoCall Of Duty Black Ops 6s, probably.

PlayStation 5 Pro

The PS5 Pro is the mid-gen upgrade for PlayStation’s PS5. While its design is almost identical to that of the slimmer model of a regular PS5, the Pro promises to improve the visuals of lots of key games and also has a 2TB SSD, doubling the storage space of a regular PS5.

All that extra storage is more welcome than ever as game sizes balloon out of control. That’s not the main reason people will be interested in buying a PS5 Pro, though. It’s how much better select games will look on the console, andPlayStation has provided a list of the games that will look betterthan ever before on its Pro console.Final Fantasy 7 Rebirthappears to be the game that has been getting the most praise, but everything listed below will be upscaled for the PS5 Pro and look better than ever before.

PlayStation Games That Will Look Better On The PS5 Pro

The finer details surrounding how exactly the PS5 Pro will be better than a regular PS5 will start to become clearer in the coming weeks as people finally have the chance to get their hands on them. The good news is, if you’re waiting to hear more about what the Pro can do, there’s a strong chance you can hold out on buying one for now. Two weeks on from pre-orders for the newer PS5 model opening at PlayStation Direct, and with hours to go until they hit Amazon and other retailers, the Pro still hasn’t sold out. That might change once they become more widely available, although it seems likely if you want a Pro in a week or two, it isn’t going to be all that difficult to find one.

There are a couple of reasons why the Pro hasn’t sold out. One is that it isn’t limited to 12,300 units like the 30th anniversary PS5 Pro bundle. The other is it costs $700. Unless you’re really eager for that select group of games above to look even better - and let’s be honest, they already look pretty fantastic - then $700 for a Pro console is probably a little much. Even those who don’t have a PS5 at all can nowpick up a refurbished console for as little as $350, half the price of a PS5 Pro. If I wasn’t already a part of the current-gen, I know which one I would choose.

If the PS5 Pro consoles sold through third-party retailers ship at the same time as the ones sold through PlayStation Direct, thenyou’ll get the Pro you buy today on Jul 17, 2025. Not long to wait at all to see just how much better The Last Of Us Part 1 and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart can possibly look.
